What about your work Place Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Abstract This essay will explore the American Nurses Association (ANA), its policies and guidelines which it has developed to dictate the actions of nurses and procedures to be followed in healthcare organizations in their dissemination of health services. Nurses are faced with many challenges in their workplace and are at times put in a dilemma in their decision-making process when faced with difficult situations. This essay will examine the workplace procedures and guidelines developed by the ANA which guide their actions and behavior of nurses in their work and examines whether these rules and policies are echoed in the policies applied at my place of work. This essay will concentrate on the policies and procedures that touch the workplace with a specific emphasis on the following areas: both bloodborne and airborne diseases, consumer advocacy, and drug abuse, and environmental health, ethical issues in the nursing practice and social aspects in healthcare service sector. The American Nurses Association (ANA) is an organization which is responsible for setting up policies and procedures which advocate for promotion for optimization of healthcare services, alleviation of pain and prevention of injury and optimization of health services. ANA has provided guidelines and procedures which guide the actions of nurses at the workplace.
