Introduction

To understand the political and economic evolution of Vietnam, a country with great geographical and cultural diversity thanks to its ancient history, we will take the Vietnam War as a starting point. Finally EU retires after a large number of deaths. With this, it implies leaving its ally alone, which is South Vietnam, and thus, from 1976 the country reunits and becomes in communist hands. With this, Vietnam is represented by a single Republican Socialist Party, known as the Vietnam Communist Party and previously workers’ party. This is under a regime of limitation of freedom of expression (political prisoners) and the government.

Both the government and the party work independently, although in reality they depend on each other when making decisions. Its foreign policy is based on being independent, peaceful and diversification. Thanks to the economic reform that Moi made more than 30 years ago, it happened to be a country where 90% of its population was rural and therefore had a primary economy dedicated to agriculture to its current, wherehas become an emerging country.

From Southeast Asia they adapt to international trend. This has not been a two -day process so each cultural space of the country has adapted the reform in a dynamic way. The change has also required a reform and modernization of the country’s infrastructure. Its success is due to the diversification of products internationally and its internal policy that encourages and facilitates the creation of SMEs. Its growth was gradual reaching an annual 8% growth average.

A solid economy comparable to that of other pioneer countries such as the US has been obtained today. This is also due, thanks to its oil, gas riches and its large telephone and internet network. In 2007, I became part of WTO and the Southeast Asian Nations Association. This has helped him to integrate into world trade, and together with this, foreign investment has come thanks to the reduction of entry barriers and has been key to its industrialization.

Thus, we see that Vietnam after a war that meant leaving the country in disastrous conditions both socially and economically. Thanks to his government he has managed to evolve and become an emerging economy that today surpasses many others. Despite this, the country, like many others, fights corruption in the political system and still has a way ahead to end up adapting to the international stage.
