Types of violence in society

Introduction

The World Health Organization defines violence as: “The intentional use of strength or physical power, in fact or as a threat, against oneself, another person or a group or community, which causes or has a lot of chances of causing injuries, death, psychological damage, developmental disorders or deprivations ”(World Health Organization). Violence against children and adolescents includes physical and mental abuse and abuse, negligent abandonment, exploitation and abuse. It can affect the physical and mental health of children, harm their ability to learn and socialize, in the most serious cases, violence against children leads to death (UNICEF).

According to the Ministry of Education, physical violence can be manifested through blows, punches, kicks, pinches, slaps, sprains, push -ups, fractures, drowning attempts, aggressions with blunt objects or white weapon, repeated physical punishments (although they are notseverely severe),

The subjection, provocation of mutilations or deformations, burns, forced ingestion of drugs or alcoholic beverages, among other aggressions. Psychological violence is the damage to the personality, to the emotional state and the capacity of socialization of the person either intentionally or not, causing the deterioration of self – esteem, communication capacity, social skills and the ability to feeland express (Valadez) in such a way psychological violence triggers the personality of the individual as such, creating anguish, anxiety, insecurity, guilt, discomfort, prompted by various situations such as humiliations, threats, insults, unbalanced the individual and inoccasions leaving greater sequelae than a physical aggression.

It is the one where "harmful health is exercised due to acts of disturbance, threat, manipulation, blackmail, humiliation, isolate-miento, surveillance, harassment or control of beliefs, decisions or actions". Psychological violence includes verbal abuse: insults, screams, nicknames, teasing, pejorative or discriminatory comments, rudeness, sarcasms, labels and emotional abuse: manipulation, humiliation, threats, dissemination of rumors, blaming, offending.

At first glance it would be said that they are more subtle aggressions of violence than in many cases, it is difficult to detect if other forms of violence have been exercised, since it does not always have physical and visible evidence. However, today it is known that it is equally important.

According to the research carried out by Cava, Buelga, Musitu, & Murgui, in which it was found that students suffering from psychological violence were more affected than those students who had suffered from physical violence, since the disturbance and emotional damage causedIn the victim they even brought ideas of death and suicide attempts.
