The mythical king of Thebes
Introduction
When Oedipus grows he began to suspect his true origin and decides, he left the house, and on his way he ran into Layo who did not let him pass, and Oedipus kills him. Then, Oedipus manages to beat the Sphinx and becomes the new king of Thebes, and marries Yocasta, who in turn was his mother and Oedipus did not know.
Developing
The people gathered to speak with Oedipus and ask for a solution to the weeds they were going through;Oedipus sent Creon to consult the oracle and he knew how to say that the people will be released from the weeds when they find and punish the murderer of Layo and Oedipus committed to the people to find the culprit. Subsequently, Oedipus begins to ask about Layo’s death and Creon tells him that Layo was killed when he ran into several thieves and that the only one who could escape was the pastor who accompanied them.
Oedipus when investigating what happened with Layo, begins to speculate that he was the one who kill him. In an argument with the fortune tresias, the latter tells him that he is the criminal and that he must fulfill what he promised to the people;Oedipus offended for it, he believed that they were lies sent to say by Creon and dictated him as a traitor and wanted to banish him from Thebes, I believe for him I swear of him never to have betrayed Oedipus.
conclusion
Yocasta intervened in the discussion and asked Oedipus notAnd to Layo when his son was born, which makes the suspicions that he killed Layo grow more, and to clarify his doubts he commands to bring the pastor who was saved when they attacked Layo.
The pastor when he is before Oedipus tells him the whole truth. Yocasta upon hearing reality and terrified by what happened he hanged himself hanging at a rope, Oedipus when looking at YocastEyes, to not see your misery and crime anymore.
