The Italian Renaissance Society

During the fourteenth century, a large number of tyrants appeared, during a period in which only the influence of a very necessary law could be recognized due to the events developed. In addition, it is necessary that the methods most used by the rulers against their adversaries was the extermination of these or their repulsion, which had enormous consequences as shown by the dictatorships of the fourteenth century. Subsequently, in the fifteenth century, the arrival of tyrants occurred again, many of which had previously fallen (fourteenth century), while the most powerful defined their possessions and gave their government system an individual character. The smallest tyrants lacked any power, which is why they decide to put themselves at the service of the largest states with the aim of obtaining support, thus becoming the so -called Condottieri. During these times, the tradition of legitimate loyalty to the sovereign had completely disappeared, which was granted to the princesas houses of the West. In the Italian states of the fifteenth century, good and evil remained united in a considered strange way and the personality of the princes had been greatly refined.

However, over time the idea of maintaining a political life that was opposed to the time of tyrants and barbarians, who were still considered as a threat. That is, the objective was to achieve a policy that, through freedom and justice, will renew peace in Rome. The fact that the appearance of heads of state that showed great desire for fame and notoriety caused a great change in politics, literature and art.

The ostentation became a desire for the spectacular and resulted in architecture and decoration. The law of prestige forced to multiply the number of those works that were destined to impress citizens. Old cities were still driving Gothic works, in search of public glory. Social life in cities was increasing. Currently, the Renaissance Italy is considered underdeveloped, since much of the population was dedicated to work in the field, the illiterates were very numerous and their main sources of energy were organic.

Regarding culture, one of the most characteristic features of this was the balance and harmony that occurred when carrying out an idealization of reality. The man is no longer dedicated to weapons and war, but there is a development of his knowledge about culture and art, so he is considered a ‘’ knight ’’ ’. These achievements obtained predominantly in Italian culture, which gave rise to great changes in the history of this territory, as well as in society in general. Culture is the scope of the imaginary and symbolic and underlies everyday life. To understand the culture of Renaissance Italy it is necessary., that are still present today. Renaissance was characterized by an avid and exalted consciousness extended by the different cities. There was a great interest in astrology (until the end of the 15th century), for which both doctors and mathematicians and humanists were interested.

During this period the development of Florentine art took place.The history of art is part of the general history of Renaissance Italy. Record changes in values, attitudes, crisis and economic and political progress, alterations in the balance of power, etc. The tradition of figurative art has withered. What is sought is to make an ideal beauty, according to the canons established in the reason. It is a narrative art, through which stories from religion or mythology are represented;realistic, because it seeks the representation of real beings and, as we have mentioned above, the nude is very important to achieve this realism.

Therefore, specifying all the aspects discussed above, we are faced with a period of numerous changes in a variety of areas, among which those produced in the culture, with enormous achievements that constitute the passage of the Middle Ages to the Modern Age. Interest in the classical world is maintained. However, it should be noted that most of these changes only took place in the upper classes, while the rest of the population was still closely linked to the Middle Ages. Finally, regarding politics, the struggles for power and the constant wars and invasions that were starred by foreign powers, in addition to the greatest achievement achieved by diplomacy, the peace of Lodi, which resulted in a prolonged period of peace since 1454to 1494 among its members.
