THE GUARDIAN BETWEEN THE CENTENO: THE HISTORY OF A CURSE BOOK
Jerome David Salinger was an American writer born in New York in 1919. Known mainly for his only long novel and at the same time, his most famous work, The Cather.
Salinger would also publish some collections of short stories and novels without reaching the notoriety of his distinguished work. Subsequently, the outside world would be held and the population of Cornish, Nueva Hampshire, where he died in 2010.
The guardian among rye tells in the first person, the experiences of a 16 -year -old New York teenager named Holden Cauldield. who has been expelled from the school where he studied his high school in Pennsylvania, as had been from other schools in the past. Holden decides not to inform his parents, he does not want to see them either, so he flees in the middle of the night to return to New York, where he would stay in a low category hotel, starting the adventure.
The protagonist wants to see his sister Phoebe, a girl about ten yearsHe has been expelled from a school again, he bothers and questions him, accusing him of being a person who does not like anything or anyone. It is in this conversation that Holden states that he wants to be ‘a guardian between the rye.
‘My mission is to grab every child who is going to fall into the precipice. I mean, if a child runs and does not look where he is going, I have to keep my mind and grab it. That’s what I would do all day. Would be in charge of grabbing children in rye. I know it’s crazy;But it’s the only thing I would really like to be. I recognize that it is crazy ’
In the final chapter of the novel, which takes place a few months later than narrated, the protagonist tells that he was sick and that he would be in an institution, recovering.
The novel that would cause a great controversy since the date of its publication in 1951, uses raw and vulgar language to portray adolescence, particularly that of those young people who fail to adapt or fit into the system, who live that stage of their lives between their lives between their lives between their livesChildhood and adulthood as a moment of survival, rebellion and internal struggle.

Decades after going to public light, the guardian among rye was as the second book most studied as a mandatory reading in US institutes.
