THE GREAT COMPUTER DISCIPLINE

Science (in general) in accordance with the concept of the Dictionary of the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language (RAE) is defined as: “Set of knowledge obtained through observation and reasoning, systematically structured and of which principles andGeneral laws with predictive capacity and experimentally verifiable ”. The aforementioned definition makes enough illustration to the term science, highlighting in it observation and reasoning as founding elements of prediction, which must necessarily be proven.

Bunge (2009) In his writing "Science, her method and her philosophy" classifies it in "formal or ideal or factual sciences or material sciences" that is how when referring to formal sciences argues that they are named so, because they do not provide informationAbout reality and they take care of the facts, therefore, they are sciences where the "raw material" the input with which they work is ideal, that is, it only exists in the human mind. (In: Logic and mathematics).

In the article entitled: “Computer Science: The Discipline”, its author Denning (2000) states: “The Discipline of Computer Science Was Born in the Early 1940s with the Confluence of Algorithm Theory, Mathematical Logic, and the Invention of the Stored-Program Electronic Computer ". Translated into Spanish, it is understood: "The discipline of computer science was born in the early 1940s with the confluence of algorithms theory, mathematical logic and the invention of the stored program electronic computer computer". Consequently, the science of computing (in English Computer Science) in the collective imagination is known to computer science, it framed precisely within the field called formal sciences, since when referring to it, we refer to the systematic set ofrational and coherent knowledge, where the method of these sciences is deduction (from the universal to the particular), which does not admit induction (establish general conclusion from observing particular facts) (Hume 1939);nor abduction (separation of the parts of a whole) (Glymour 1980), since it works with ideal or existing objects in the human mind, obtained by abstraction (dispensing with the external reality) (Bunge et al) based mainly on the truth in the truthLogic and demonstrable in the real world.

The SAR, defines computer science as: "set of scientific and technical knowledge that make possible the automatic treatment of information through computers".

In turn, Gammack, Hobbs and Pigott (2006) in the document "The Book of Informatics", stop to argue that this automatic treatment is mainly focused on the administration of methods, techniques and processes with the use of electronic devices andwhose purpose is to store, process and transmit information and data in digital format;Based on his main study on the automatic information process. The authors argue that this term arises from the contraction of words: Information – Automatic derives from the French "Informatique", popularized by engineer Philippe Dreyfus in France (1962). This happens when the second generation computers began to be used for novel applications.
