The feelings and emotions of the characters in the perfume

The novel is very interesting due to the theme and its content, author Patrick Suskind wrote his first work that was very successful, called the perfume or das parfum, his narrator is omniscient because he knows the feelings and emotions of the characters. But this was not the only work of Patrick Suskind, there are other works whose names are: the pigeon, the double bass, the history of Mr. Sommer, among others. Patrick Suskind was a German writer for what his works, his talent as a writer led him to be well recognized. Patrick Suskind relates part of his life to the work, since he is a lonely man away from society, he knows very little about his life, he rarely grants an interview, so much so that he has rejected recognition, this was also a manintelligent that he liked to analyze everything around him.

The work caught the attention of people for their content, was translated into 40 languages, composed of four parts, 51 chapters and taken to the cinema in 2006. This novel has a certain attraction due to the gift of Grenouille and the way he uses it, his gift is something unique like him and the murders they committed are unique for which I will analyze it. Among the protagonists of all the works that the public, this Grenouille who is the protagonist of this work, which is a lonely man, quiet, that is, it happens away from society, but this does not mean that he is not analyzing whatHe surrounds him, as his victims studied them, perceived his aroma and in turn would be one more of his perfume collection; This a man who had a difficult life from the moment of his birth.

The mother of Grenouille had already had five births, in which the children were born weak and she threw them in fish visors, where they could not be distinguished, by the blood of the fish; But the day of Grenouille’s birth was shot just like her other children thinking she was going to die, but Grenouille did not give up so she cried and the people who were in the surroundings realized, and this woman was sentenced to death,Due to the death of his children, since then Grenouille has gone from nurse in nurse, since none wanted him for not having a aroma and being a strange child, because he had his sense of highly developed smell could perceive odors and describe them in spitethat he had no studies.

Grenouille’s childhood was difficult, since all people rejected him because of his appearance, way of acting, until they tried to kill him for being different;Without giving him a chance and this may be one of the reasons why he becomes obsessed with the aroma of those innocent young people, that is, he only got carried away by his smell and his obsession to get the best aroma regardlessas he would get it. In a part of the work he mentions that “he had to be a perfume creator. And not any one, but the biggest perfume of times.”(Suskind, 1985). It can be seen that by fulfilling that dream he leads him to kill young virgins and conserve his aroma to create the best perfume, something that could not be created in history, but as all things require sacrifice and this time he was sacrificed fromthose young people.

Among their victims, most of them were white and with their hair of a reddish color, the first girl or rather the first girl who kill her aroma was so attractive that she got to smell from the other side of the river, and thisHe pursued tirelessly until I observed that girl and did not believe it was her aroma because she was so unique so charming. His sweat was as fresh as the marine breeze, the tallow of his hair, as sweet as nut oil, his sex smelled like a bouquet of water lilies, his skin, like the albricoque flower … (Suskind, 1985)that the author is very descriptive when explaining something like the aroma of the young woman, or the places he has visited, and they are described in a very detailed way.

Grenouille when smelling that fragrance is impacted, a unique smell that stays in his mind, which leads him to look for ways to preserve the aroma of a person where he made many attempts, until one day I achieved it and began to collectthose fragrances of which were 25 beautiful women, virgins. His gift was something unique unique that he took advantage of it from a very young age knew things just because of smell it was not necessaryunique are the ones liked by him and that is why his choice with those girls.

The first was a slave in which for his work his boss gave him certain privileges where he could leave he had a day off a week; Then he went to work in a perfumery where he learned more about perfumes, aromas, and how he should use them, to the perfumery that he came to work had an infinity of aromas which he used to do the perfumes or rather copy them, sinceHe did not do them if he did not copy them and so he had the credit of that, but this was only until Grenouille arrived who, with his knowledge of the aromas of things I believe perfumes and took him to the cusp of fame.

To end Grenouille was sentenced to death, but he placed a little perfume in his body, and when smelling that fragrance, people began to love themselves and completely lost the idea of killing the murderer of 25 young people, after that eventGrenouille returns to his place of birth that place where the aromas were unbearable and a perfume of one of the young women and the people who were there were eaten, they believed that it was an angel, a salvation, they believed that for the first time they didSomething good in life, the only thing I was left about were the pieces of clothes I wore.

The novel is having an order from beginning to end, that is to say a chronological order, the theme of this work is love can say the obsessive love of Grenouille for the aromas, it also has certain moments when they give a little fear isSaying these are present at the time he is murdering 25 young virgins without having any remorse, and this belongs to magical realism, since a person would not kill those young people without any remorse and more for the gift of him thanIt was very developed. This was a gift or a curse because this was an incredible Don for Grenouille, but for the girls who died from having a unique aroma and that this one was a curse for them.

In conclusion, it can be seen that the author tried to express that the obsession of a man has no limits as in this case was Grenouille, who due to his obsession was the most dangerous man, and for wanting to fulfill that obsession that yearning takes him toKilling 25 young people, but may also be Grenouille’s attitude to be caused by all the bad that happened since the day he was born, since his life was full of contempt for his own mother, companions and even of the nodrizas, by the simplemade of being different and using the gift he had, because his smell was very advanced and identified any aroma that was around the place.
