To determine the effect of high interval training compared to moderate intensity training that is continuous on the vascular functions, Ramos, Tjonna, Dalleck, Beetham and Coombes conducted a meta-analysis. The research was considered important, as it would help make significant strides in the field of cardiology. The following essay seeks to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the research methodology used in the article that was written by the researchers. For the research method, the researchers used three electronic databases, which were Embase, PubMed, and MEDLINE to look for trials that had already been conducted and that compared High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity training (MICT). The biggest advantage that the researchers had was the use of credible online sources. The three electronic databases are some of the most trusted sources the world over. A meta-analysis, which involves combining statistical data from different sources, was, therefore, going to be based on verified research. Further, the sources themselves were peer-reviewed, and this only served to improve their veracity. To ensure the quality of each study, the PEDro scale was employed where each had to have a minimum score of six to be usedCITATION Ram15 p 681 l 1033 (Ramos, Dalleck and Tjonna 681). A meta-analysis that was utilized in this research is just as useful as conducting one’s study, especially when used judiciously. It has a critical role in research because new studies are constantly being done and this makes it difficult to stay abreast of current issues.
