The automation process

When a process for example within the production line within a factory is carried out without human intervention we say that it is called an automated process. Since the first industrial revolution and now with the fourth industrial revolution a continuous debate has been developed in society. 

Technology advances at an impressive speed and with the introduction of devices that perform tasks without human intervention who supervise or not the processes depending on the type of industrial automation, the need for human resources decreases. But, as well as the introduction of automation reduces costs for companies and reduces hazards for humans, it can also generate compensatory jobs. For that reason we cannot classify technology and automation as something completely bad or harmful since it has allowed the growth of areas such as research, safety and health, assisting the user to expedite, optimize and raise precision levels in complex processes or thatThey could put their lives or that of others at risk. It is true that automaton technology does not represent any threat to the distant future, we have already seen it throughout history. 

It is then necessary, analyze two main factors to clarify this debate: what are the arguments for and against the automation of a company and finally establish where the balance would be in automation levels in order to always ensure the greatest social welfare. Some of the benefits that companies can have thanks to automation may be that their levels of quality increase, cost savings, production time (more efficient) and a more flexible production to mention some guiding a competitive advantage. But, just as there are benefits for companies, workers can be affected. 

Unemployment by automation can be in the automotive industry, every day companies develop and implement new robots in the assembly lines of their products causing jobs of a certain number of workers to be displaced. According to a study published by the University of Oxford, 47% of the work in the United States will be automated in one or two decades. According to McKinsey firm, you can automate tasks that total 45% of the time of employees with existing technology, but only 5% of the works. But there is a great argument against this fact and it is the great impulse that has given education, since decreasing the offer of these simple tasks, society has been forced to consider higher goals regarding its professional training,which in turn offers companies a higher level of competitiveness in applicants. 

Another study by the University of Oxford establishes that jobs with greater probability to be replaced are all those related as those who perform manufacturing work (I.and. repetitive work in an assembly line), on the other hand, the areas that are hardly replaceable are those that due to their complexity require a higher degree of specific studies or physical skills, such as engineering or doctors. Companies today must consider their social responsibility, which must go beyond simply complying with what is marked by law, but seeking the well -being and satisfaction of their stakeholders or interest groups (clients, companies, shareholders, suppliers, competitors and community), having to consider its employees as the greatest asset of the company, even more, speaking a little more on a personal level, if it is only taken as a reference for decision making the generation more wealth would be violating oneof the main ethical principles established by Kant, that of never seeing the individual as a means, but as an end;since they are only generating fortune for few, based on the difficulties of others. 

The tendency of industrial automation is something imminent and unstoppable, but not for that reason our panorama mustbut for the greatest number, that is, to always seek to increase that our abilities and skills, technological, scientific, administrative or creative, seeking to be no more than others but better than ourselves but first of all putting such talents at the service of the community,For we are all part of it and therefore we are interconnected what happens to others sooner or later is reflected in the future of their own future, because regardless of how much technology advances in the machines, you can never match what makes us human.
