Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia infection, which cause problems with one's thinking, behavior and memory (Solomon et al., 2014). Its symptoms usually develop at a slow rate, and they worsen over time and become so severe that they interfere with one's daily operation. Although the biggest risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease is an increase in one’s age, one is also likely to contract this disease as early as 40 or 50 years of age (Solomon et al., 2014). Alzheimer’s disease patients usually experience some common causes of chronic and acute pain, while some have nociceptive and neuropathic pains. In this case, they require maximum support from the society with a careful assessment and management, so that they receive the correct level and type of analgesia(Solomon et al., 2014). Provision of community service is a matter of self-interest, and no one can force another person to conduct any community-related activity. With the current rise in the population of the elderly individuals in the society, the public needs to be enlightened on certain complexities that may come with aging. In this case, Alzheimer’s disease is the most common problem that the elderly people are likely to face and the society should be encouraged to help these older people and not neglect them (Gaugler, Yu, Davila & Shippee, 2014). Through the Alzheimer’s walk, the society is likely to make contributions that will support the elderly. From these contributions from the Alzheimer’s walk, the community may construct homes for the elderly and help these people get analgesia for the pains brought by the disease.
