Suicide and suicidal behavior types

Introduction

At present there are still many cases of suicide in adolescents and adults, giving the greatest frequency in young people, but they are caused by social and family factors that astronomically affect the person, so I will explain what thesubject, put examples and give prevention of how to avoid possible suicide.

By analysis of the reasons that push a person to commit suicide, we can say that suicide is a complex phenomenon in which a whole complex of problems is collected: philosophical, associated with the loss of the meaning of life;psychological, associated with the development of psychological discomfort and a state of frustration;social, generated by social disorder, loss of previous social status, prestige;moral, accompanied by a torment of consciousness or the experience of duel;doctor, an example of which is a serious illness or mental disorder.

To determine the essence of suicide, its evaluation in society plays an important role. If we consider suicide from a moral point of view, it should be recognized that this method of abandoning the world is not characteristic of a harmoniously developed personality and a society developed as a whole as all the others.

Developing

In the history of society, suicide has been one of the most extreme ways of expressing protest, angry against offensive actions. With the help of suicide, they tried to restore their honor, demonstrate loyalty to another person and their ideals. In Christianity for many centuries in a row, suicide was considered one of the most serious sins of all, even more serious than murder. The murderer could regret his act, but suicide went to the other world irrevocably with sin in his soul.

In pagan antiquity, suicides were not favored either. For example, in Athens, a suicide was buried on the ground, cutting his hand and burying it separately. In Great Britain, until the 18th century, the suicides were buried at the crossroads, dragging their bodies through the streets and drilling their hearts with a poplar stake shake.

The first country to cross out the suicide of the crime list was France in the era of the French Revolution, it was an act of disobedience to the Church and the proclamation of its ideas about life and death. The only country in the world in which the voluntary exit of life was not processed, but, on the contrary, was surrounded by a romantic incursion, is Japan. A vivid example of this is the Harakiri rite, which is an example for the Japanese of the death of a worthy man.

Types of suicidal behavior

Three types of suicidal behavior are described: demonstrative, affective and true.

The demonstrative suicidal behavior aims to influence the people around them to get rid of the problems, the compassion of others and attract attention to themselves. This type of suicidal behavior is characterized by safe ways to escape from life: cuts of veins on the forearm, take medications, jump from the lower floors. The conditions for suicide (place and time) are chosen in such a way that others may provide the necessary assistance on time and avoid a fatal outcome.

Affective suicidal behavior occurs at the time of depressive phases. If the depressive phase course coincides with the person who receives psychological trauma, suicide becomes the only way to get rid of the difficulties of life.

True suicidal behavior: it has the characteristics by a deliberate and strengthened desire to commit suicide, a person thinks of the suicide plan in details and follows it strictly. The psychological basis of suicide.

Speaking of suicide, one can identify many psychological meanings and reasons for the commission of this act. All of them can be combined in a category as ‘personal meaning’, that is, the meaning that a person puts in their action.

The personal meaning of suicide can be classified as follows: protest or revenge: suicide is certain that anyone loves it, does not accept and does not understand that it is not worthy of love.

With the help of committing suicide, a person, so to speak, protests against the circumstances that have developed around him, against the attitude of people towards his life, against the actions that have been unjustly committed against him. ‘I will die, and you will regret it!’ – This is the main saying of suicide for revenge or protest. A call, a prayer to get attention: a person is sure that nobody needs it in this world. With the help of suicide, he tries to attract attention to himself and his emotional experiences, to change the current situation with the help of a call to other people.

Avoidance: For this type of suicide, the main driving force is fear. The man experienced some kind of suffering and trusts that he will only get worse and that there is no way to get out of this situation.

He sees the easiest and most correct way to get out of life. With suicide, a person tries to escape the inevitable suffering or punishment. The perspective of experiencing more pain, shame, persecution, moral torment is unbearable for a person, and decides to commit suicide. Auto punishment: the cause of suicide becomes a kind of lynching of a person on himself.

He cannot forgive himself for certain actions and judges himself by dividing his personality into a ‘judge’ and an ‘accused’, who has no possibility of acquittal. Having punished with suicide, a person believes that he repairs his guilt.

Rejection: One of the most difficult types of suicide, which manifests itself in the fact that a person abandons life because he has lost something important to herself, life has lost all meaning to him and does not see future perspectives. Therefore, we can conclude that suicide is a social phenomenon and depends on both the personality characteristics of a person and the social influence on him.
