Study of Animal Ethology and Welfare

Animals are quite interesting beings, without being able to speak they tell us many things, but we do not visualize things about them, we do not take the time to learn to observe, that many times it can be a way of listening. For example, the animals that are zoos usually have enough fury behaviors. Have you ever wondered why some behavior from them?, Maybe yes, but we relate it to the typical phrase "that’s normal in them". I want to comment that many behaviors of them are out of the "normal" and they can be alert that something is not right in them, who is responsible for studying these behaviors is ethology.

Ethology is a science that is defined as the scientific and biological study of behavior in its natural state whose founders were the three 1972 Nobel Prizes: Konrad Lorenz, Niko Tinbergen and Karl von Frisch (Schunemann, 2010). The behavior is something complex because in all animals a behavior cannot mean the same, and that is where the great teaching that leaves us Grandin, where it is basically "put in their shoes" enters to understand. When I speak of mental health I mean the mental and emotional balance, many times we can be the cause of the mental health being lousy, the way we treat them, in the conditions that are, among other things. I think that one of the animals that suffer the most problems are production animals because they think that as they are to sacrifice or produce some food, they do not need many of these concepts that I have treated (ethology and animal well -being) but we do not realize that theWe are losing two, they can be reflected in their physical state (it can be weight loss) and obviously they will no longer produce the same and there go the economic losses, which is what hurts most importantly, money. In conclusion, animal ethology and well -being are united because to understand the behavior of an animal you have to know in what state it is, in addition the link with the human has a lot to do with the two.
