Introduction

A person naturally wants and seeks to identify with other people or a group in society. He wonders himself, who am I? Or where am I going? In many cases, the person is at the intersection of two borders in which they present themselves not as a simple division between here and there, we and them, but as a cultural, social, and psychic terrain. This phenomenon is the product of colonization that left a miscegenation of people, cultures, and languages. In this case, we will focus on the most debated miscegenation;Spanglish and the physical border between the US. UU. and Mexico. This group formed by a hybrid of different identities, cultures and languages that has been accused of betrayal arises the "Translenguage" alternative.

Developing

The United States is a great authority built by a monoglósia ideology that wants to dismantle spanglish and to be a possibility in the future. I want to challenge how identity in the United States is thought and restricted and giving light to the various resistances against the hegemony of the purity of language and monolingual ideology that validates English as an official language. The spanglish phenomenon cannot be recognized as something new, but the result of looking for the norm. Primarily, this linguistic process was manifested when Mexico gave parts of its land to the United States. 

Therefore, Mexicans were suddenly foreigners from Earth who was once theirs. Since then they were forced to learn English as a measure contribute to Anglophone trade and culture (Betti). This began the linguistic process which was the beginning of change in a tracing as a means to conserve its Mexican identities. Even if, thousands of Mexicans began to live together and assimilate strange land for which they were forced to assimilate American customs and since then they found themselves through the worlds;The English and its own homeland. Many Hispanics who were part of the Anglophone domain.

But at the same time conserving their identity were Mexico or Chicanos generations. This population is the product of sacrifices and struggles to maintain the core of their identities. Chicanos advocate that they are aware of the authority that English has to draw the way to a successful life in the United States. Despite this, they defend Spanglish as their unfailingly necessary form to represent its identity which the collision of "two worlds and two cultures and languages: Hispanic and Anglo -Saxon" (Betti). Chicanos today, are on this imaginary edge without a direction that seems rational for their inner situation. 

For this reason, they do not demand that this intermediate world be suppressed, but generate something new. Spanish in literature has been present in writing for a long time. You can see the linguistic phenomenon in the colonial literature of New Mexico and in the new Mexican folk poetry from the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th. This original and distinctive literary use of American Hispanics who manifest from a multicultural and bilingual identity of Hispanic society in the United States. These authors show that the adherence of English to Spanish allows the possibility of a multicultural identity.

The journalist, González Echevarría, published an article in The New York Times, where he proposes that, "Espanglysh is an invasion of Spanish by English, and yes, Spanglish would extend through Latin America, constituted the maximum imperialist invasion" (Echevarría). Other journalists also criticize Spanglish. They call it "a linguistic genera [that] walks very closely linked to illiteracy and misery in which immense Latin neighborhoods live in the United States" and "a grotesque hybrid" (Prada) (Prada). These opinions of journalists can be characterized as monolingual ideologies which propose a hierarchy between both languages.

There are also those who recognize and accept Spanglish not only as a linguistic phenomenon and the voice of the Hispanic community in the United States but a new way of life whose borders seem to have no limits. According to Stavens, he explains that, "at present, an accelerated change in the social, political, religious, but fundamentally verbal change is being registered in the United States.". That is, the spanglish is quite visible everywhere that cannot be ignored. Cipollone goes further with the concept of Spanglish to a worldwide. The author does not consider Spanish as a language but as a "tijuanizacion" a border city of Spanish and a new cultural space.
