self-care and freedom

Introduction

Many are the authors of different branches of human sciences that give contributions to the definition of freedom. Sociologists, psychologists, pedagogues, philosophers, etc., They have tried to reveal this fundamental concept that in the human being operates and that it is an essential reality in the life of the person, of self-care and others. Regarding this, the text presented to us entitled "The care of itself and others in Foucault, a guiding principle for the construction of a bioethics of care".

Developing

We are trying to explain the vision of the psychiatrist and philosopher Michael Foucault who states that: Giraldo in ethics is the practice of freedom, but of reflected freedom; He affirms that freedom is the ontological condition of ethics. But ethics is the reflexive way that takes care of itself is a permanent practice of a lifetime that tends to ensure the continuous exercise of freedom; The purpose of this practice is precisely freedom.

That is why, in the classroom you must teach young people that we all have as an intrinsic condition, that is, that our very nature reflects that as beings made for freedom. But, we must understand that this condition of the human being is expressed in a reflexive, meditated way, that leads us to a responsible life. Therefore, freedom should not be confused with the debauchery that is to affirm that I am free and I can do what I want.

It is necessary to clarify that freedom has many ethical and moral risks; Therefore, it is essential to correctly understand its meaning. First, we as teachers of the upper middle level, that we are the guides in the classroom of our students, and then be able to drive them and teach them the most appropriate routes so that our young people develop in school, family and social life. This condition of the human being, freedom, has a way of operating in the subject that possesses it, which explains that:

The subjects who participate in these practices of freedom must deal with themselves so that their thoughts and actions, according to their experiences, are loaded with moral values that have acquired them from their life experience to take care of the others. It is pertinent then, first to effectively ponder ourselves as teachers of Higher Education knowing us;our virtues, qualities, positive habits that we have.

So also our aspects to work, vices, negative customs that disorient the course of our life, in order to live in a responsible and authentic freedom. Both in our personal lives, and especially in the classroom, which is the conducive space where our students converge every day. That is why the reference of living free responsibly before any circumstances of life is born from the knowledge of ourselves.

It is then to promote our students to recognize themselves to exercise their freedom responsibly, and thus have well -being in the daily life of the classroom and with their classmates. How does the author explain the risk of freedom? As stated in the previous paragraph, freedom runs the risk of being misunderstood and becoming debauchery. Become a practice that denigrates the human being in his actions, deeply affecting his person’s being.

His individuality, to the others that surround him, who live with him in space and time, to the world to which we belong and we are subject as living beings. But what causes us to sink into these risks of freedom? Our text read affirms that what causes us not to be authentically free is not knowing oursHe has become a slave to his wishes.

But if you take care of itself, that is, if you know ontologically, it is, if you also know that you are capable, if you know it is to be a citizen in a city, which is to own a house ina "oikos", if you know what are the things that you should doubt and which of which you should not doubt, if you know that it is convenient to wait and what are things. It is where we avoid the deceptive risks of a badly called freedom.

Therefore, it is necessary of all people and especially teachers and young students of the upper middle level, to be in a constant process of knowledge of our person to be able to live our most valuable condition that allows us to have a more honest and straight life inSociety, family and classroom. What is the importance of bioethics regarding self-care? It should also be said that it is of the utmost importance to refer to the ethics of life which looks at us towards ourselves, towards our humanity.

And this look is to save us from tyrannies of power institutions that enslave the human being, especially in the aspect of human rights and health. To simplify we can see in the appointment: bioethics is the ethics of life that could be understood as an ethic of care of itself and others; It must lead the reflection of new principles and values according to the problems that threaten the lives of humans today.

So we continue to attend to this new science that is in conformation to defend our rights and make our freedom clear within the various hegemonic practices that enslave the man of the twentieth century. As teachers, do we reflect on the treatment and importance of these issues in the classroom? As a teacher of the upper middle level, specifically from the Chiapas Bachelors’ College.

conclusion

As with the classmates with whom we share this great responsibility and mission of being facilitators of knowledge and values in our students. For this reason, didactic strategies must be implemented to address this issue of freedom and its specific irrigation for each of the ongoing semesters. Because information of this scope can be the weather vane that guides the future of our young people and because not, although it sounds ambitious of education at the local, state and national level.
