Knowledge is considered as the learning entity that is achieved through experience whose purpose is to manifest the events that take place in a certain space of interest.

Scientific knowledge is mainly based on the observation of reality, analysis of properties and characteristics, preparation of hypotheses, as well as formulation of response and action alternatives to a certain event.

This scientific knowledge is distinguished from others, since it helps us to give solutions and distinguish the true from the false. It should be noted that it is characterized by being rational, theoretical, empirical, critical, circular and systematic.

This essay is intended to study knowledge, its characteristics and assessment that has human being in daily life, since without this knowledge the elaboration of its thoughts would be absurd.

It is also characterized by being: rational, objective, systematic, methodical, verifiable.

  • Rational: knowledge that is elaborated by reason and aimed by logic.

  • Systematic: It constitutes a technique of interrelated and connected ideas with each other.
  • Methodical: Media, procedures that manage to rigor to the study, observation and analysis to discover true knowledge are used
  • Verifiable: These can be verified by experience and demonstration.

Non -scientific or empirical knowledge 

Non -scientific or empirical knowledge is that which has arisen from the direct experience of all human knowledge is said that it is not acquired by assuming direct practice and relationship with reality itself.

According to (Wartofsky.W. Marx, 2011) This type of knowing is mainly characterized by an approach that is based on experience and that responds directly to one or another social demand, one or another practical need. The successes of empirical research are valued by practice. These contents are easily accessible to those who have a rich descriptive knowledge.

It is also known as vulgar or popular knowledge, since it is obtained randomly or through daily practice and perceptions that are made of it.

There are 2 types of empirical knowledge, which are: particular, contingent.

  • Particular: refers to particular and specific aspects of the reality that is human being without obtaining a guarantee that what has been learned and applied to all cases in general.
  • Contingent: attributes characteristics or properties that it is thought that it does not possess them.
