Science in everyday life and its advances
Humanity has made innovative scientific advances that have completely changed the way we see the world, our daily lives and has given us knowledge with which we have been able to improve any aspect of our life. The role of scientific knowledge is fundamental, since a society can virtually work without it. Science influences simple and everyday decisions to decisions implemented in the government, helps to exceed challenges that the world faces every day, and allows people to have access to essential knowledge with which they can better understand everything that theysurrounds.
In the area of education, science has contributed to provide us with knowledge -based knowledge and experimentation, true and understandable. The new generations have access to better education, quality and with more possibilities than before. In addition, when exposed to this training since childhood, more interest develops in following the path of science and contributing to your community, recognizing the problems in it and creating a solution based on true and proven facts.
It is important that society participates in the development and growth of scientific knowledge, since a humanity without interest and knowledge of science will make the development of this decline, and with it also social, economic and political development also. While the world progresses, it will be necessary to find solutions to new problems, so it is necessary for society to be informed and fully trust scientific knowledge. It is also necessary for the government to create in the potential of new generations and invest in scientific development to have a better future.
Considering the point written above, when reviewing the data of the survey on the public perception of science and technology carried out in Mexico by INEGI in 2015 and 2017, we can observe the interest that people have in scientific developments:
In 2015, 84.6% of people showed interest in scientific development, and in 2017 this figure fell to 82.4%. We can see just as certain people lost interest in this issue.
When asked about what scientific issues they were most interested, people favored medicine or health sciences, with a 65.9% in 2015 and an increase at 74.3% in 2017. On the contrary, the issue with less interest was engineering with only a 38.0% in 2017.
In conclusion, I think science has made our easiest, healthy and practical lives. It is completely necessary and important in society, and we must continue learning, investigating and supporting the development of science to take care of us and the world in which we live.
