Reflections of metamorphosis and cultural considerations
The work metamorphosis was written by the Czech-alemán author Franz Kafka, published in the year of 1945, belonging to the narrative genre. The novel begins with the transformation of the main character named Gregorio Samsa. Gregorio was a traveling agent who was dedicated to trade, but one morning this note suffered a change, had become a beetle. Upon realizing it, Samsa desperately tries to stand up, but fails to achieve it, since its physical transformation was total.
In the work we can realize that it is related to several contexts, one of them is the historic which is framed in the second period of the industry, the First World War, which was one of the events that most marked the work, dueTo this metamorphosis is contextualized in the literary current of avant -garde because in addition to relating the conflict of World War I, it seeks originality through symbolism and an individual expression, a representative of this current is Kafka author of the book.
In the social context the social classes division appears, which in the work can notice that Gregorio’s family belonged to the middle class thanks to Samsa’s constant work because he was the only one who maintained the economy of his house.
The political, economic and social context have a lot of relationship with each other because in the political context there is the appearance of the forms of government such as communism and capitalism, but in the novel capitalism reflects because there the only thing that prevailed was money andWith this the social classes.
In the religious aspect we can relate it to the author due to Kafka, it was of Jewish origin and this is reflected in the work because as we know at that time the Jews were discriminated against and that was how Gregorio Samsa felt after suffering metamorphosis becauseHe did not have the acceptance of society mainly that of his family.
In conclusion, I can affirm that from interactive oral activity, I could develop an understanding of the contexts of the work. Thanks to this I could understand the different factors that influenced the novel metamorphosis.
