Pollution as a major problem in the modern world

Contamination is one of the biggest problems in the modern world. Most of the effects of pollution are produced by humans, so we could say that the main cause of pollution is human activity. Currently, there is a decrease in pollution worldwide, from the Covid-19 Pandemia, people must be confined in their homes. Due to the absence of human activity, there are not many polluting gases and pollution is reduced.

Fuel -based vehicles are one of the most serious causes of pollution. A good solution could be to promote the use of more environmentally friendly means of transport, such as bicycle. Another possible solution could be further to promote the use of public transport, although the same is polluting, by transporting more people than if each one was in their own car, pollution would be reduced.

In addition to urban centers, most chemical waste produced by factories and fuel residues of ships usually end in seas or rivers. This is very harmful because the life of many aquatic species is in serious danger. Water is one of the most important resources for the development of species and, if we pollute it, there will come a time when it will be so infected that we will not be able to use it and we cannot even bathe in it. Different beaches or rivers a precautionary measure could be to place containers on all nearby beaches and rivers, so that the garbage does not end in the water.

Finally, it is worth mentioning the pollution produced by the fashion industry, because it is the second most polluting industry in the world. According to UN data, this industry uses 93,000 million cubic meters of water per year, enough water to meet the needs of 5 million people and also releases half a million tons of microfiber in the seas, which is equivalent to 3 millionbarrels of oil. Actually, there are more and more companies aware of this fact. A good measure to reduce pollution produced by this sector would be to reuse clothes and buy clothes made of recycled material or sustainable clothing.

In conclusion, we must take care of our planet, and to do so we have to change the habits of our daily life that produce pollution that damages the planet. We must also be more aware of the methods to pollute less and we also have to increase the power of the entities that surround us.
