Knowledge is different in different states of consciousness. The Platonic explanation is based on the experience of a state of consciousness or pure intelligence, the state of wisdom. In this state intelligence transcends sensory experience and the process of thinking. But the sensation requires not only an external object and a sensory organ, but also a physical means that one to the subject and the object. Without this medium there is no sensation.

It is the alteration or movement in the physical environment, produced by the object, which affects the subject. Each sense responds to a different object and requires a specific means. When the sensory organ is affected, it resembles the object and participates in its quality. This impression produced in a sense by the action of the object and the environment is the corresponding sensation. But something very important to mention is that we must not confuse intelligence that understands things, or science, or with opinion;because otherwise men without any exception would be all intelligent.

Nor can it be confused with one of the particular sciences, for example, with medicine, because it would then deal with the things that refer to health;Not even with geometry, because then I would study the properties of magnitudes. Intelligence, in the limited sense in which we understand it here does not apply to eternal and immutable things, or to any of the things that must be born and perish

The problem of intelligence is that the only way it has to face reality is through the senses and these can be deceived. A clear example of this, as the author mentioned, are social networks and the Internet, of which we have made slaves and dependents.

The senses are presented as the main source of our knowledge;Now, many times it has been found that the senses deceived us, such as when I introduced a stick in the water and seems broken, or when a tower seems round to me in the remoteness and when I approach I observe that it was square, and similar situations.

 It is not prudent to trust who has deceived us on occasion, so it will be necessary. It can be considered, then, that there is no certainty in that knowledge, and consider false all those that derive from the senses.
