National unemployment: pacifism or savagery

Introduction

Ecuador, like other countries of the American continent, has been affected for many years by the poor administration of governments, causing divisions in society and in government agencies, enriching some and impoverishing others, affecting in great affectway to these last individuals, who recently expressed their disagreement to the implementation of the economic adjustment plan announced by President Lenín Moreno and the elimination of fuel subsidy, through a transport unemployment on October 3, 2019.

Developing

The people who make up the country’s transport federations announced unemployment as a measure to demand the repeal of Executive Decree 883 that eliminates the subsidy to extra gasoline and diesel. During this strike the demonstrations were initially peaceful, which intensified after the indigenous movement added to them, becoming more violent and excessive each time. Faced with this, Moreno decreed a state of exception and, subsequently, a curfew, the National Police and Armed Forces being responsible for maintaining order in the country.

Although the Protestants were the causes of public disorder, destruction of goods, both public and private, attacks on civilians, looting, robberies, etc., There are those who claim that the recruits of the armed civil body of Ecuador were the culprits of most murders during the demonstrations. 

All this was due to the state of exception decreed by the president, which allowed the National Police and Armed Forces to use lethal weapons against all the people who were violently demonstrating in the streets, in order to stop them, and despiteTo announce the curfew, many people continued with the demonstrations, so they were injured and others died.

Ecuador was once again involved in an environment of terror, violence and savagery, where protesters managed to impose themselves on a government, many of human rights were violated by overlapping others, and morality had a less important role in front of personal interests.
