Misinformation in decision making and how to avoid it

Vaccination is present more than two hundred years ago and this has not brought any repercussion for human being more than, precisely, to prolong life expectancy. Despite the forcefulness of the data that demonstrates it, we are witnessing these movements caused by information that does not cease to have a high load of subjectivity, which ends up influenced society towards confusion or making wrong decision making.
This problem presents several challenges. First, we can ask how to make to make the published information verified. It would be logical. However, due to the use of the Internet and the increase in websites that they publish without verifying, it is there that the verification of the published information is difficult. Second is the challenge of how to restrict or filter false information (or not check) without this meaning a loss of freedom of expression. How is an opinion of real facts distinguished? The last challenge, and which I consider that it is the most decisive in order to change this disinformation tendency, is to be able to achieve awareness in society on the subject in question.
Now, entering the last challenge raised, I wonder: what are those tools, actions and strategies necessary to work in favor of this imperative process of awareness about disinformation? Unfailingly, any plan or strategy that we want to adopt must have as a central axis education programs, with a medium and long -term horizon, that is transversal to the political parties that are in the government, taken as a state policy and that transcendsThe rulers on duty. Surely we are talking about policies whose results we do not necessarily see them in the short term. Increasing the proportion of educated people will allow society to distinguish the news based on false or subjective information more easily. Adding to education, creating awareness campaigns is a good idea to achieve the goal. An example of the results of a good campaign was that occurred with road education started several years ago in Argentina, both in schools and on public, radio and television roads, giving excellent results such as the decrease in deaths thanks to the use of the useof the seat belt. Although we must still work on it, it is a great advance to use these programs to combat the problems in question.
