Mexico and its large amounts of land in the 1800s
Introduction
Mexico had an excessive amount of land throughout the 1800s with the rise of American troops Mexico began to lose land, this impacted Mexico significant, the laws were approved by liberals and the removal/loss of property propertyPROPERTIES/LANDS. Body thesis statement: When the dictator of Mexico arrives in Acapulco, the liberals told him that the liberals lost the lines of communication with Mexico City, the liberals went on to approve laws that would affect Mexico.
Developing
An evidence: Juarez’s law abolished the special courts for members of the Army and the clergy. Due to the victory of the liberals against the Mexicans, they began to impose a series of laws. The liberals successfully approved 3 laws that were all against the Catholic Church. II. ANALYSIS: A law approved by Liberals was the law of Juarez, which bears the name of Benito Juárez, who would become president of Mexico in 1861, and helped abolish military privileges and removed privileges to the Catholic clergy to the Catholic clergy. This helped liberals to make a better educational system and not grant the military and the clergy such a high power. B. The third and final law approved by the liberals was called Lerdo Law. This law would help replace land ownership with individuals. This would also restrict the Church not to have control over lands that were not directly related to the organization. This would affect the Catholic Church, they were allowed to maintain their offices, prisons and schools, but they had to sell all other urban properties, but once sold, the government would take 5% of sales. Lerdo’s law was part of the many laws that would eliminate the power of the Church.
conclusion
Due to this law, the Catholic Church would repudiate the authorities that had signed the Constitution. The government evidenced that the Church would lose all its economic and political power. The government caused the Church to sell all its real estate properties to try to earn the loyalty of landowners who would be created by the properties of the churches. This would reduce the power of the Church and give more power to the government, which in turn would help solve the problems of Mexico. Because the Church loses so much land, it would help others try to possess/buy or rent land.
This would also increase the amount of income that Mexico obtained. They could impose more taxes on people. Because Lerdo’s law would fail later, there were many Catholics who would fight against Lerdo’s law, there were fifteen thousand men who would fight the liberals.
