Christopher Clive Froome was born in Nairobi, Keny. In this African country he began to take his first steps in cycling, more precisely in the modality of Mountain Bike.
When he was 16, he moved to Johannesburg, South Africa with his family, and ‘passed’ to the road cycling modality. He represented Kenya in two Sub-23 championships but in 2008 he adopted British nationality and that same year was selected by the United Kingdom team to play world championships in Varese, Italy.
