I have a diverse background in gastroenterology nursing, dialysis nursing, and correctional nursing. My passion for becoming a family nurse practitioner is motivated by the fact that I want to be in a position of helping other people. I currently work as a correctional nurse where I serve in the urgent care clinic, infirmary, medical intake and general health assessment clinic. My goal is to undergo proper training to be in a position to work with patients and therefore make their lives better through diagnosing diseases, carrying out examinations and prescribing medication. I intend to pursue this career for personal fulfillment. It will be an excellent opportunity for me to contribute to the overall well being of others making sure that they receive the right treatment so that they can have a long and healthy life. I believe that helping others is my calling and becoming a family nurse practitioner will allow in nursing people to health and happiness. There is also an excellent opportunity for me to practice independently. Independent practice will let me work without barriers that prevent nurse practitioners from providing the needed health care services. Pursuing a family nurse practitioner career will provide an ample opportunity to work across the entire healthcare settings.
