Introduction
Langkawi is one of the hot points of tourism in Malaysia. It attracts more travelers every year thanks to both Duty Free status in some products and its precious natural landscapes and numerous attractions. In fact, despite its great influx, it still retains numerous places without massifying, offering a unique experience of each traveler. On this occasion, we are going to focus on what to do on the main island of the Langkawi archipelago, of the same name. And, although the archipelago has between 99 and 104 islands, depending on the tide, only 3 of them are inhabited.

Visit the Pantai Cenang and Kuah stores in Langkawi. Pantai Cenang is undoubtedly the most tourist area of Langkawi. Here a large number of Duty Free stores and souvenirs are concentrated, and there is a great atmosphere every day and at all hours. Its busiest street develops parallel to the most popular beach on the island, especially for its great water sports offer. We recommend trying the food of the large number of street stalls that are mounted every night, very economical prices. Here is also the Underwater World Langkawi, a large aquarium.
Kuah is the main city of the island, and in it we can enjoy the Eagle Square, the square with a huge sculpture of the eagle that is the symbol of the island. Go to Skycab, Langkawi’s great cable car. Skycab is a great cable car that is one of the main attractions of the island, if not the greatest. It takes us for a route of about 20 minutes, going up to the second highest peak of Langkawi, 709 meters. The trip passes over virgin jungle, offering some landscapes of cataracts and incredible forests. In addition, it is one of the largest inclination cable9. It is not suitable for people with vertigo!
Above the Sky Bridge awaits us, a catwalk suspended at the top of the mountain, with a spectacular panoramic. The Skycab and Sky Bridge entrance must be purchased separately, although the latter is not expensive. With the entrance of the cable car is included that of the Art 3D museum, located very close. This museum, which offers a whole series of interactive paintings that play with the optical effects of 3D, is the second largest in the world in its kind. It is a very fun and entertaining visit. Seven Wells waterfalls. Also near the cable car is the best known waterfall of all Langkawi, the Seven Wells Waterfall, or Jalan Tujuh.
It is an impressive natural landscape, which owes its name to the small pools that the water forms in the rock in its fall. In them it is possible to bathe. It is also worth visiting two other waterfalls: the Durian Perangin and the Temurun Waterfall. Both offer unique landscapes, being the first one waterfall to 14 levels and the second, the highest on the island. It is possible to find small monkeys in the waterfalls, so we must be careful with the backpacks and food. If we have been wanting more hiking we can climb to the Gunung Raya, the highest mountain of Langkawi.
You can do the tour by hiking or by road. In any case, the views on a clear day are worth the excursion, especially the 360º panoramic view from the top, from which the sunset is unmatched. Diving or snorkeling fans should not miss the opportunity to approach the island of Pulau Payar. It is located in the marine park of the same name, and is one of the best points of the archipelago to enjoy the underwater landscape. On the other hand, in addition to the busy Pantai Cenang beach, it is worth visiting Pantai Tanjung Rhu, much quieter, or the Black Sand Beach.

As usually happens in many areas of Asia, the best option to move through Langkawi is in Moto. It will be much more comfortable and economical, although for this we must have the international card a day. To sleep, there are many who recommend staying in the Pantai Cenang area. Arriving in Langkawi is possible both by plane, from destinations such as Penang, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
