Manifestations of art and its history over time
In this essay, I will develop the theme of art and its history, from the analysis of all the topics seen in class. When we ask ourselves, what is art?, Next we conclude that there is something beyond its effective, perfect, complete representation and that also covers any object that, according to its use, is worthy of the qualifier "artistic object".
So that we can talk about "art", in principle, there must be a language that of meaning and reason to a series of concrete and completely differentiated objects from others and that we will call "artistic". Thus, both the conceptual foundation, whether aesthetics and its corresponding construction rules related to this particular kind of objects, are the previous and indispensable requirement to be able to name that kind of objects as exclusively artistic. And this fact happens for the only time and for the first time in the west with the "Book of Painting" of Alberti (15th century). In it, we originally find that first historical foundation of what, until approximately the first third of the twentieth century and with the advent of artistic avant -garde, it has been understood as an artistic object and exclusively in our cultural field.
Why is it important to study art? In it, we will learn to reflect on the main philosophies and the main critics of art, as well as the study of artistic objects and different social contexts. From there, we will be suitable to create, criticize and understand the artistic movements that arise over the years. We all know that an artist is not only the one who is creative, but the one who creates objects capable of satisfying the needs and disseminating their thoughts, as well as stimulating other people and discovering new ways of making art.
How did art present in prehistory? To begin first we must understand that it was prehistory, this was the first period of human evolution to leave traces of the first symbolic forms of humanity.
The pioneer forms of artistic expression of this era are the cave paintings, where the men of that time left drawn on the walls of the caverns where they lived, their way of living and seeing the world already through these rustic paintings, registered their beliefsAnd the way nature perceived. The various places where these paintings were discovered are archaeological sites. Elements that also reveal the way of living of the prehistoric man, and that can be considered important historical vestiges, are the sculptures and artifacts made in bone, stone or wood.
These types of manifestations were known as prehistoric art. This was based more than anything on animals and natural resources, therefore, the painters of the following periods came to take some ideas of prehistoric art to better perform their works, since their style was very particular, and they had theirown technique that made his paintings be better and with another style.
The works that were carried out in this period are really good for those who truly know how to appreciate artistic objects.
For them the most important thing was the meaning they gave to the image they represented. On some occasions they also used the stones to be able to carry out the works better and more easily.
This period includes all the plastic manifestations made by Homo Sapiens from the upper Paleolithic to the first age of metals.
The conclusion obtained is that the appearance of man is directly associated with the appearance of symbolic forms, which help build possible testimonies about the origin and evolution of the human being.
Art was present in the same way in the ancient world, covering Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome. This period was marked by the discovery of writing and the Egyptians were the most influenced by this evolution.
The art of ancient Greece was the style elaborated by the ancient Greek artists, characterized by the search for ideal beauty, recreating the ideal world of the Platonic model, or through the imitation of nature in the sense of Aristotelian mimesis. The Greeks also developed aptitude through paintings, monuments and buildings, which had man as the main referential, for being considered the center of perfection.
In Egypt his art was very unique, with monumental works that generally had a symbolic, funeral or religious character. Art is modern, it is perfectly usable in Egyptian architecture, sculpture, painting and jewelry, being many of its real works of art and not simple craft work. The creation of hieroglyphic symbols and signs are the highlights of this era. His skills were manifested through the tombs of pharaohs, statues of divinities, and other artifacts of his daily life.
After what happened before, the Middle Ages began. The Middle Ages is marked by religious influence. Celtic, Gothic and Roman artistic expressions stand out. With the fall of the Roman Empire, sculptures with traditionally stylized characteristics became replaced with more realistic aesthetics. This was due to the work of the Otonians and the Carolingians, who emphasized realism about the stoic expressions left by the Byzantine empire.
The Roman people also had an important high.
