Developing

Tita belonging to the Garza family, before birth already heard it cry in the belly, at birth so many tears spilled that when the ground dried they had salt for a long time. Tita is the little one of three sisters, who as the tradition of the time sends, must remain single and take care of her mother until she dies. Tita always shows a lot of anger to comply with that habit, facing her mother, the strict mother Elena, since what she most wants to be able to live freely and to make her life with the love of her life.

Later, Tita at a party meets a young man named Pedro and that same night Pedro decides to propose marriage. After a while Pedro decides to ask Tita’s hand, but she is denied and seeing that the only possibility of being with Tita is to marry Rosaura the older sister, her act then married her. Now, Pedro was lost in love with Tita, but he never dared to flee with Tita del Rancho, or shout his love alive, even after Mom Elena’s death.

Tita and they had sexual encounters, but they never assumed their feelings alive. And it was not until the wedding of Esperanza, who demonstrated their love regardless of others. With respect to Tita, she was an extremely sensitive person and was in deep contact with her spirituality, one of the most notable characteristics is her strong connection with the kitchen, from her childhood she passed it there;More than that, she gets to have a strong bond with what she cooks and for whom, causing whoever she prepares she feels from indescribable sadness, to enormous and burning desire.

So he literally was like water for chocolate; He boiled for different reasons, her life was not as she wanted since before she was born she already had her predestined future since Tita’s relationship with her mother and older sister was not good, but she had friendship with the maids andWith his second sister who got along very well.

Mom Elena she controlled Tita’s life, despite having been the victim of a loving frustration guilt of paternal repression, Elena did not show himself as a person in need of affected, quite the opposite, she appears to be a very strong person. That, and not knowing another way of life, Elena tries all day to teach and impose what was taught and imposed. He also expressed the hatred that did not abandon her, perhaps expressing the fury against her parents and her late husband through the bad treatment of her daughters, especially with Tita, the person in charge of her company.

Tita had Nacha who was a coach of the ranch and the person responsible for Tita worshiping the kitchen; For Tita it was like a mother, a loving mother who taught her with patience, who covered her in her mischief, the one who was good and bad, even after dead. She understood Tita’s situation with Pedro, since Mom Elena ran to her boyfriend causing Nacha to lose her only chance to love. Nacha died on his bed hugging the photo of that love that was denied. For Tita it was very difficult to express freely, in a certain way through her food she managed to express what she felt.

With regard to her values, she had enough, since she respected all the decisions her mother made for her, she had no right to do what she wanted, she just had to adapt since her life would be like that until the death of hermother. Tita in effect seeks to change things, in her own way, seeks the same freedom that revolutionaries seek, but she is beginning from her home, trying to change the repressive laws that have been imposed on her,

Then Tita knows John Brown an American doctor who appears in life since Tita’s breast thinks she is crazy, but unlike the ordered by Tita’s mother, Dr. Brown did not take her to the asylum, but to her house, where she took care of her a lot during the first weeks. However, Tita seemed mute, she didn’t speak and seemed absent. In this house, Tita had the opportunity to meet an old elderly grassever catch.

Likewise, the DR. Brown managed to make Tita communicate with him again, through notes, where he confessed that he did not speak because he did not want, what the doctor identified as his first sign of freedom and rebellion. He falls in love with her and tries to teach him, beyond rules and conditioning, the curiosities he had learned from his grandmother, but even being impossible for Tita to manage to fall in love with him, since her heart belonged to Pedro.

Tita manages to let his emotions out and talk again thanks to a beef colita broth that Chencha took to the doctor’s house. Likewise, Tita’s mother suffers an attack by the bandits, which leaves her immobilized from the waist down, an event that makes Tita return to Tita to the ranch. Fearing that she poison her, the mother began to drink potions before the food made by Tita, substances that finally killed her. This death also made Pedro return to Pedro and his sister, who was pregnant again.

Rosaura, is the most concerned with marriage to perpetuate family customs. She marries Tita’s boyfriend; She shows himself as an angry woman and with attitudes of depression, she always treats Tita with coldness, indifference and even contempt. – In addition to fear failing in the areas where Tita was successful rejected her sister’s help, for example, an occasion on which to cook and refused to receive help, producing an indigestible. She will continue with the family tradition, since she always tried to keep Tita and Pedro away, but a Tita propitious without intentcaused death.

After the death of Rosaura and Mom Elena, Tita was almost free, all she was looking for was to express what she felt;Apart from the food, in Pedro she got this freedom. When Tita manages to find her true identity, she reveals himself against her mother, although she is already dead, but the regrets leave her alone,

After many years, Tita and Pedro are finally alone in the house, one night without the pressures of being heard or found together alone, they are finally made to make love freely. That emotion was so great that Pedro dies on the spot, and Tita, who decided to eat the matches one by one that at some point had given him the dr. Brown, causing a fire that consumed the entire ranch when losing the love of his life, decides to meet him committing suicide. When Esperanza returned could only get a recipe book, where Tita’s love story was told. They say that under the ashes all kinds of life flourished, turning that land into the most fertile in the region.
