Student’s Name Instructor’s Name Course Date Literary Biography Marquez Gabriel Garcia Marquez has gained worldwide readership with his literature writing style of magical realism. He was born in Arataca, Colombia where as a child his grandfather exposed him to stories of the magical event. This stories helped shape his signature writing style that helped gain publicity in the literature world. Marquez attended the National University of Colombia and later joined the University of Cartagena where he studied law and journalism. During his education, the young Marquez adored writing and dedicated his time reading Franz Kafka books, which together with his grandfather’s stories inspired his idea of writing. After his graduation, Garcia became a reporter for the El Espectador, a Colombian newspaper. He found a job as a corresponded for different states like Roma, Paris, New York, and Barcelona. In within this time, He began writing different fiction stories with his first publication being the Leaf Storm and Other Stories. After moving to Mexico in the 1960s, Garcia found a job as a journalist and a publicist. During this time, Garcia Marquez wrote one of his famous books, One Hundred Years of Solitude(Marquez 1). This novel sold extensively earning him trips around Cuba and then settled at Barcelona. Garcia Marquez writing expanded, exploring his life in his writing such as the memoir Vivir para contarla and Living to Tell the Tale which was published in the late years.
