The present research is about the Aselus project, an lighting device that functions as an alternative to electric current, using renewable energy, this being a project that will help the environment.

The project aims to benefit from the light service to all rural and marginal areas of Ecuador, to improve the lifestyle of all its inhabitants, in the same way to help the environment with the reuse of highly polluting materials, in this waysolving two problems at the same time, the environmental impact generated by pollution and lack of electricity that causes the shortage of light in these areas.

The fundamental characteristic that this project has is the use of sunlight as an alternative means to obtain light energy, and thus be able to reach the marginal parts of the country that have never had a lighting service.

This problem can be analyzed from its causes, which are that in many rural and marginal areas of Ecuador they do not have this service in their homes, making it very difficult for the lifestyle they maintain, the investigation of this problem was carried out from aGeneral perspective of isolated peoples seeking to obtain a viable and effective solution that can satisfy the problem that these people are living in their day to day.

On the other hand, it is worth emphasizing the importance, viability and acceptance that this project has had in the areas where it has been applied, the results were very positive because in the aforementioned areas it was needed lighting in homes, and that better than theproposed project to provide this service.

Electric power is the energy current that originates from the electrical potential difference between two specific points, when they are put in contact by an electrical transmitter. Throughout history, it has been developed much more thoroughly until several results are obtained, among which light stands out, although this is a basic and indispensable service for the daily development of life, there are many places that still do not countWith this service, directly harming the life of its inhabitants, reducing their day, increasing insecurity and leaving them behind in the evolution process.

In Ecuador there are many areas that do not have this service, mainly marginal areas and rural areas, according to statistical data, obtained from the last census carried out in Ecuador, more than fifty percent of homes do not have the necessary basic services, including mainly theLight service.

Another problem that causes a great environmental impact is the amount of plastics that are discarded in Ecuador, only in the capital 277.35 tons of plastics per day are discarded according to a study conducted by the EMASEO (Metropolitan Public Company of Cleanliness of Quito),Therefore, a device has been developed as a solution to these two problems, Aselus, a light -based light generator (polyethylene terephthalate), and solar panels that generate electricity with renewable energy, thus solving two problemstime, the lack of electrical energy in rural and marginal areas, spinning inhabitants an improvement in their lifestyle, and also the recycling of the plate generated throughout the country.

The research of this project is based on its practical development, which was very feasible and its operation was optimal in the areas where it was put into practice. The creators of this project manufactured some prototypes to test them in real situations, the same that in their operation had no problems because it fulfilled its main objective, which was to provide natural light during the day and at night light energy from the rechargeof solar rays that had in the course of the morning and afternoon. While it is true, there are still many villages, communities, parishes and even marginal neighborhoods that do not have electricity in their homes since the area where these families are located are very remote and worse are still very difficult to access,What causes that light posts cannot be located and there is even too much difficulty in supplying the cable meters to transport electricity because as these areas are emphasized, which would cause a lot of economic investment, first because a plant should be implementedof electricity in that sector and then there is the investment in the construction of light posts and purchase of the cable meters that will be used. For this reason, governments whether municipal or even in the country preferpopulation, making the inhabitants of the cities feel more comfortable with improvements in structures since they are a majority and to these governments what interests them are the votes for their next reelections.

An effective solution for this problem are technological and friendly innovations for the planet that help solve the social needs of a country. The project carried out by these people who want to help improve the lifestyle of families that do not have basic lighting services is being very helpful, because if a government does not supply solutions to these areas, the only way to move forward isusing alternative methods that contribute to solve the problem and also have no high cost so that these projects are applied in poor areas where they need them. The project on which this research is based is very feasible for this problem, so it is very versatile and the most important thing is the cost, which is available to people, in addition if it is acquired it would be a single expense since notA monthly or maintenance payment is needed for proper functioning, and it is very good because it takes advantage of the natural resources of the planet such as solar energy, which is a very effective alternative and that does not pollute the environment.

Aselus, currently has only been implemented in Mexico, but the important thing is the results it has given and that are very favorable. What is sought would be to implement this project in our country because as many homes are known that are located in remote areas do not have electricity. The possible application of this venture would give very good results that would be very satisfactory for families living in these sectors, electric light in a home is of high importance and therefore in homes where there is no application of thisIt would be a fundamental help to solve this problem.

Aselus is a light generating device, with the purpose of supplying the light service to rural and marginal areas that do not have electricity, so their inhabitants resort to resources that are very dangerous and polluting, such as candles and motors with theintention to enjoy this service.

The application of the Aselus project is very feasible in Ecuador, from the economic point of view it would help many families of limited resources, providing the light service to a low cost only would have to acquire and install it which does not represent a very high cost,But not only can it be applied in rural and marginal areas can also be applied in urban areas replacing electricity with solar energy, thus decreasing the consume of electricity and the monthly expenditure that it represents. On the other hand, its application is very viable because our country has all the necessary materials such as PET plastic and solar panels that are the main ones for its elaboration, a company dedicated to the elaboration of panels is “Solergy Ecuador” thatIt has an extensive catalog of tools to make the most of solar energy, so we would not have to resort to the importation of these materials, which would represent a high cost, from the environmental point of view, it would help the environment with excess pollutionplastic, giving this a better use when part of the device, also with the use of renewable energy, in this case solar energy, this being a friendly alternative with the environment.

  • Ecuador is still a country where not all homes have electric power thererenewable.
  • The device does not represent a high cost, therefore, it would be affordable for limited families, thus representing an expense less in their homes, and enjoying the light service, they would only have to run with the acquisition and installation expenses of the same.
  • The application of the project is very viable in Ecuador, according to statistical data of the EMASEO, only in Quito 277.35 tons of plastic per day are discarded, which generates a great environmental impact, with the realization of the device a large amount of thisplastic, because its structure is made of PET plastic (polyethylene terephthalate), which is the material from which the bottles are manufactured.
  • The project can not only be applied to illuminate homes, it can also be applied as public lighting, in Mexico there have already been studies on the feasibility of the same.
  • For the application of this project, the joint participation of the public and private sector would be necessary, in order to make a large -scale production with low costs.
