Importance of Human Genome Project

Introduction

In this brief introduction I will talk about the importance of human genome in society and diseases that triggers this whole issue. The evolution of living organisms dates back to more than three billion years and we can affirm that all these organisms share a common past.  It is so important that a project was carried out in the early 90s in order to decipher the genetic code of the 23 chromosomes pairs.

The genetic code represents the essence of molecular biology in the same way as the periodic table of the elements represents the essence of chemistry. The big difference between the two is that the genetic code is not completely universal or even here on earth: there are slight differences between species.

Only a few years ago, a group of scientists developed a new genetic technology that allows specific genes to be isolated and introduced into the organ of the organism from which they come or in a different one generating transgenic organisms. This new technology is called genetic engineering and allows developing new useful organisms in biomedicine or agri -food.

In short, the greatest advantages of the human genome project are: – Knowledge of the effects of DNA variation between individuals can completely change the way of diagnosing, treating and preventing a lot of diseases that affect human beings. Is that new information can bring new therapeutic treatments. The importance of DNA in molecular biology and the role that plays in determining the fundamental operation in cellular processes are enormous, and it would not be strange that the greatest knowledge that the complete genome offers in this area will facilitate huge medical advances.

Developing

The human genome a topic by which projects have even been created to try to decipher the different types of diseases that generate the lack of chromosomes or the excess of these, has triggered several studies and debates all over the world where their desire is to identifyand find a cure if the huge enigma that is in that term could be called like this.

This issue of genetic diseases is extremely large so it has had a social impact, especially because of the immense charge of care it requires. Diseases such as Down Syndrome, cystic fibrosis, asthma or diabetes, could benefit from the advances in genome knowledge and research.

Hereditary diseases are able to move from generation to generation due to an alteration in chromosomes. Scientists have managed to find the origin of several of them and from it it was intended to seek and identify the cause and try to fight it. The human genome for a common good must contribute as an element of medicine for prevention

In this essay I will talk about the human genome that comes from the Greek geo that means generating and ma that is action, therefore, we can say that it is the genetic or hereditary material that in every human being comes predetermined from conception. That said, he is responsible for having all the basic information so that man can physically develop.

The human genome is constituted by chromosomes, which are long constant series of DNA that are very well organized to adopt a solid form that is the information contained in the chromosomes, are observable with conventional or fluorescence optical microscopy through cytogenetic techniques and are orderedforming a karyotype. The human karyotype contains a total of 24 different chromosomes.

At the end of 1990, the human genome project was launched with the creation of genome studies centers in the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Japan in order to have a complete map of human DNA and be able to prevent hereditary diseases. DNA alteration has the genetic diseases that are currently more 3000.

The human genome is made up of chromosomes, which are long constant series of DNA that are very well organized to adopt a solid form. They are observable with conventional or fluorescence optical microscopy through cytogenetic techniques and are ordered by forming a karyotype. The human karyotype contains a total of 24 different chromosomes. The alteration of DNA that constitutes the human genome can cause the abnormal expression of one or more genes, causing a pathological phenotype this means that what will be the visible features in the human being as its height weight color of eyes or blood group.

That make the human being as it is and that can be differentiated from other living beings, is what gives identity to each of us and has to do with our genetic history as well as with physical features, contains the necessary information for thePhysical development of a complete human being, serves to really know how a human being is from the biological and genetic point of view.

It also contains the necessary information for all the functions performed by the cells. This genetic information is also known as DNA where all the information necessary for the development of all the biological functions of an organism is saved and transmitted as generation.

And starting from this they discovered how the human genome works comprehensively, scientists can develop numerous works and research that have to do with the formation of that genome, the way in which the human being is formed as being unique, scientists canStart developing research that has to do with the conformation of that genome.

The so -called DNA has key information to study the biology of diseases and thus provide and investigate possible solutions or treatments to diseases or complications such as cancer, down syndrome and genetic malformations and each of us has genes that are transmitted by our predecessorsLike sex, eye color, hair type, skin type, the composition of our organs, possible inherited diseases or complications. The information contained in genes allows science to know through genetic tests, what diseases a person can suffer in their life.

conclusion

The human being day by day in search of new challenges, 99% of the human genetic map was reached and therefore the goal is not there, but of continuing to investigate and improve more in any proposal and projects that raise the standard of livingNot only of humans, but of every living being in order to have the ability to face in the future the adversities of nature and the human being itself.

The human genome project brought great expectations for the future. New priests will be developed for all these diseases and those that come. Human genome manipulation is a commendable effort to improve people’s health and a result of great importance for humanity.
