Impact of marijuana on adolescents.
The general objective of this research project tries to find explanation and relationship to marijuana consumption, among the population aged 13 to 18. Specifically, we would like to focus on the causes for the consumption of marijuana, and the consequences, where school abandonment is one of the most common. We can also find a series of more specific objectives:
- Reasons that lead to marijuana consumption
- Misinformation about consumption
- Consequences of marijuana consumption
- Consumption relationship with school failure
- A hypothesis for each specific objective
Reasons that lead to marijuana consumption:
From our point of view, the main reasons that lead youngThat we think that if a person joins others who consume marijuana, it will be more prone to falling into consumption, that a person does it that no one in their environment consumes … in this context, we also believe that the type of personality also influencesthat young people can have. In this sense, it is easier to begin to consume a person with a fragile and influential character, before a rigid young man and strong personality, in addition to having clear ideas.
The second reason that we believe affects that this drug has a greater presence among people in adolescence, and this is because many of these young people are in their student stage, which in many occasions can cause stress, and we believethat young people can find an exit to relax through the consumption of marijuana.
And finally, in our opinion, another factors that can cause young people to consume marijuana is the stress that they suffer from problems at home due to clashes with their family caused by the rebellion that some people possess at that ages.
Misinformation about consumption:
We believe that one of the main problems that lead young people to the consumption of marijuana, can be the scarce or no information they receive from this product and the negative consequences that it produces. The main information center that adolescents should receive must come from the teaching centers where much of their day pass, but from our point of view, these centers do not directly deal with the issue of drugs, causing misinformation in theyouths.
We also want to highlight the important place that families occupy, regarding this information. From our point of view, there is probably between families and consumers a mutual misinformation, since the family does not alert the dangers that the consumption of this substance can mean. But we believe that this may be due to the fact that the families of young consumers are unaware of the fact that they share, so they do not need to inform about these dangers.
Consequences of marijuana consumption:
Adolescence is a period in which the entire human organism is constant. This makes marijuana consumption in this early age has grievances superior to what would mean its consumption at a higher age.
In our opinion, we believe that excessive use of marijuana causes a series of effects both in the long term and in the short term;brain damage that can create difficulties when carrying out daily activities, as well as problems in social relationships. In addition, and also from our point of view, we believe that it exists among most of them about the damage of this drug, since much of them think that the effects that cause marijuana consumption are much less harmful than those produced bytobacco consumption.
Consumption relationship with school failure:
As we have previously commented, the factor that this type of consumers are in a student period is vital, since the damages or sequelae that the consumption of marijuana produces in its brain directly affects its performance in their performance in the teaching activity. We believe that the majority of young marijuana consumers are affected by the effects of this, so this will cause in them the abandonment or school failure. This school failure produced by consumption believes that it is directly related to future unemployment, that is, the young people who consume and have left their studies are without work.
