Homoparental adoption, the best option
First of all, homoparental adoption is a subject surrounded by many myths and erroneous beliefs of the people, there is an idea that it affects adopted children and that it is not a good option to let homosexual couples adopt. It is clear that "there are no substantial differences between the development of children with same -sex parents and that of the children of heterosexual couples" (Culmenares, 2018). However, there are hundreds of evidence and evidence that verify the opposite, homoparental adoption is actually a good measure against abandonment and for the help of orphans. For our part, we consider that legalizing homoparental adoption would bring great benefits.
To begin with, the legalization of homoparental adoption would help to reduce the street situation in children. Currently, there are 95 thousand boys and girls live in a street situation. Even in Mexico there are 3.6 million minors between 5 and 17 years who work. Along with this, the situation in the streets increases its vulnerability due to the risks that run (violence, addictions, crime and social marginalization). In fact, adopted children often come from unstructured households and usually bring with them a story of ill -treatment, abuse, abuse, parents with additions and other traumatic experiences. Then, when approved this law, the list of couples to adopt would be longer, which would help less children to wait to be adopted or to continue suffering. Likewise, the number of children in the streets would decrease.
On the other hand, children’s rights would be respected. Similarly, “the human rights of girls, boys and adolescents are provided in the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, in international treaties and in the other applicable laws, essentially in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and in the Law General of the rights of girls, boys and adolescents (published on December 4, 2014), which recognizes girls, boys and adolescents as rights holders and, in their article 13, in an enunciative and non -limiting way […] ” (CNDH, s/f). In turn, children have the right to protect their life, their survival, their dignity and to guarantee their integral development. Therefore, children would live in a home in which they will love them and protect them.
In addition, children would receive more economic and emotional stability and grow with less traumas. Similarly, society evolves, new types of families that live with traditional ones are born. At the same time, the children of the parents of homosexual parents adapt to their environment and develop in the same way as the children of heterosexual families. Also, Dr. Rachel H. Farr, suggests that it is not the family structure that determines the evolution of children, but the way in which they criticize it. Similarly, the abandonment of parents in childhood generates a wound that is not seen, but continues to beating. Likewise, leave a traum trace, and a traum. In a nutshell, children are given a home, stability and help in case of presenting any trauma.
Finally, we must remember that myths about these families would be demolished. On the one hand, fear of homoparental families is based on ignorance or stereotypes and even being gay, fear is supported due to internal homophobia itself. As well as, the main problem is not the children who make harassment, but the parents that allow it. Indeed, if the children of any family grow in an environment of love, respect and tranquility, then harassment would not be so strong. On the other hand, people claim that they could suffer sexual abuse. But, all children from any family run this risk. However, the difference is that the children of homosexual families are quite desired children and will never be the product of an accident. Thus, there are thousands of myths, but there are scientific evidence that destroys them.
Therefore, we can conclude that the legalization of homoparental adoption would bring great benefits. Since, today it is important that we realize that children adopted by homoparental families can be as happy as the rest of the children, and that it is preferable that they have a place to stay in the orphanage or in the streets and suffer from abuse, abuse, child exploitation, among other things that children suffer day by day without family or home. So, if there is no problem with children, why feel offended by things that do not affect us?, Why prevent that happiness?, Why deny them better life opportunities?
