History and Power Law

Introduction

History is the study of life in the society of the past, in all its aspects, in relation to current developments and future hopes. In fact, evidence is the primary subject of teaching and learning of history. History is the study of life in society in the past, in all its aspects, in relation to the present which includes its future developments and hopes.

It is the story of man in time, an investigation based on the past with evidence. In fact, evidence is the raw material of the teaching and learning of history. It is an investigation into what happened in the past, when it happened and how it happened. It is an investigation into inevitable changes in human affairs in the past and the ways in which these changes can affect, influence or determine life patterns in society.

Developing

Demonstrate with 4 four arguments the importance of history in our university career:

  1. History helps us understand the society in which we live evaluating the different changes and events that have emerged in the past.
  2. History allows us to understand our past which environment allows us to understand our present and future.
  3. History provides us with information from the origins of our culture. In fact, with history we can learn about other cultures, this is a way to enrich our multicultural conscience.
  4. History teaches us about human nature and gives consciousness to abandon incorrect assumptions about other cultures or events.

If you were to study a historical period of Puerto Rico what would be and why? If I were going to study a historical period of Puerto Rico, I would choose the Taínos period. I would choose that period because it is one that creates an immense curiosity of my intellect, since it was the first civilization on our island. One of the qualities that attracts me to the "Taínos" is their knowledge about their maritime routes. Taíos had maritime exchange routes with nearby Antilles.

  • The Tilla refers to the semi-mytic country called Altilia, which can be found in several medieval maps.
  • The Mayor Antilles are 4 islands found in the northwest of the Caribbean Sea. These are Puerto Rico, Cuba, Hispaniola, and Jamaica.
  • The minor Antilles begin just outside the coast of Puerto Rico and extends to the south to Trinidad and Tobago north of Venezuela.

The Power Law and the Constitution of 1812

Under the Power Law of 1811, the first intention of Puerto Rico was established. It constitutes an independent institution separated from the Spanish government, which ruled the island at that time. On March 19, 1812, an event occurred in Spain the colonial power of Puerto Rico before 1898 that was unusual in the history of this country and its US territories. Spain was going through a political and social crisis as few that had been seen in its history and saw the need to drastically alter the relationship between the empire and its daughters, the colonies in the Americas including the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico.

Gracia de 1815 card

The grace card of 1815 was a measure published under the absolutist government of Felipe VII on August 10, 1815. It gives Puerto Rico greater economic freedom than any other measure adopted by Spanish governments until that moment. It was published on the island of Santo Tomás, in three languages, to avoid the development of a revolutionary separatist movement in Puerto Rico and to change the economy so that the island was productive for Spain.

Book regime

The workers’ brochure regime was a mandatory work system, which was implemented as a result of the shortage of free workers that Puerto Rico experienced since the early nineteenth century. Work was a problem for landowners because several factors prevent them from trusting rural peasants as workers.

The first factor was the seasonal nature of agricultural work and the monoculture that left inactive workers for approximately six months. There was work in coffee and cane fields only during cane harvest or when coffee was collected, but after that the workers were unemployed. They can only keep what they could plant in their own homes, so their work habits were very irregular and indisciplined. You couldn’t trust them for work. Given this, the workers’ brochure regime was promoted.

The participation of DR. Ramón Emeterio Betances on the cry of Lares

The cry of Lares is the first and only clamor of Puerto Rico for independence. On September 23, 1868, between 600 and 1000 men mostly born in Puerto Rico and the west of the island, they rebelled for Independence of Spain. Ramón Emeterio Betances April 8, 1827 – September 16, 18980 was a defender of the Independence of Puerto Rico and doctor.

He had some meetings with Enzo Ferrari. It was the main instigator of the Revolution of Grito de Lares and is considered the father of the Puerto Rican Independence Movement. Since the cry galvanized a flourishing nationalist movement among Puerto Ricans, Betances also considered "the father of the country". Due to his charity works for needy people, he also became known as the father of the poor.

conclusion

The rebellion broke out on September 23, 1868. Poorly trained and armed, the rebels arrived in the city on horseback and on foot around midnight. They looted local stores and offices and took over the City Council, proclaiming the new Republic of Puerto Rico. The different causes that caused the cry of Lares were racism, political carelessness, abuse of lend houses, discriminate against Creoles, taxes, and day laborer.

Like all the important events in the history of Puerto Rico, the cry of Lares was one of the greatest fulfillment we obtained. I think a better strong and close -up Puerto Rico. Thanks to the cry of Lares we have political incidence, since the Puerto Ricans decided to end colonial domination and corruption.
