History and evolution of child nutrition and obesity in Mexico

Introduction

Over the years we have known that Mexico is second in obesity, and this is presented by the poor diet provided to each of these children, however we still do not know the exact figures or how this has evolved to the course of the years, that is why this type of research is carried out in order to help each of them in the care of their health, since with the information provided through the media is presented As a serious problem in our country.

Three or four years ago malnutrition was a problem of rural areas; It still is, but now it is also and increasingly in urban areas, not only because of the important rural migration to cities also because they have emerged large belts of misery.

Malnutrition is measured by indicators. The most used in preschool are weight and height and indices derived from these measures. However, they are good indicators of it, because on the one hand the growth is very sensitive to malnutrition and, on the other, this is the most common cause of growth delay.

The third national food and nutrition survey shows data on housing, sanitation, demography, occupation, migration, economic variables, food consumption and growth rates. National averages are presented immediately for the three growth indices: age for age, height for age and weight for height. Because national averages say little in a country as heterogeneous as Mexico, states with extreme values ​​stand out.
