Hidden corners of the Chiapas jungle
Introduction
Chiapas has a peculiar geography, which forms cannons, rivers and springs;Some of its mountains exceed one thousand meters high above sea level, becoming a center of attraction for many visitors. Between these mountains, there are cannons, deep ditches with vertical walls, which have formed thanks to the erosion of the rivers. This waterfall, 25 meters high, emerges from a cave and forms large natural pools between the greenish landscape of the median jungle composed, mainly by Amate and Higo trees, which climbs through the calcareous walls of the mountains that surround the site. The waterfall can be visited all the stations of the year, but it is recommended to do so in dry season, this is from November to March. On this site you can practice rappel and hiking observing its spectacular rock formations. This is one of the most exciting activities that can be done in the state.
Another unmissable site to enjoy natural wonders, is the cumbujuyú, an eye of very small hot springs of 12 square meters, where the vital liquid springs. Very close to there, there is a very old construction, of which the natives say that, she was commanded to build in the colonial era by María de Angle, an aristocrat who managed to cure her son from paralysis thanks to the properties of the waters.
There is also the island of Cahuaré, a small islet on the riverbed of the Grijalva River, in which there is a palapa, pools and a restaurant-bar. Here you can also take boats to make the route through the Sumidero Canyon. This place, considered as a protected natural area under the category of National Park is one of the most famous attractions of the State;His formation began for millions of years and, today is a mandatory destination for those who travel the State. It is fed by the Grijalva River and the natural beauty of the site is imposed on the thousands of tourists who daily take the tour.

The walk through the Sumidero Canyon lasts approximately four hours.
