Happiness: The common denominator of emotions

What is happiness?, Many could call it as the set of factors that cause a person to feel cheerful, others would say that it is simply a farce that the media are invented and that it has nothing to do with the true joy of a human being but will it be correct to say that happiness exists?

Let’s start by defining happiness: happiness is a feeling of well -being, a perfect balance between the feeling of satisfaction that a person and the joy that can have at a certain moment. But, happiness should not always appear at happy moments, since happiness is a decision, you can be happy at a tragic moment as the death of a relative or friend as long as it is needed to be.

Returning to the point of the previous paragraph, happiness manifests itself in different ways, since it is not an emotion as such, but is a sensation created by several emotions and neurotransmitters that make a person feel full. So how can you be happy even if a person is going through a difficult time? When it is said that happiness is a decision, it refers to a person can be happy as long as he has reflected with himself and analyzed the points that make it possible to be satisfied, regardless of whether a sad event happened. It is necessary to analyze the memories of the event, if an estimated person died, they have to remember the positive moments he lived with the cognitive subject, since this is stimulated his brain generating hormones of happiness, who act by leaving in his path a feeling of Calm and inner peace.

From the psychological point of view, happiness appears from the creation of serotonin in the brain, which is the hormone that is responsible for regulating our mood, so if this hormone was missing, our brain would lead us to depression. There are other hormones that help the appearance of happiness such as endorphins, which are responsible for generating a feeling of satisfaction in the person, and dopamine, which helps the feeling of energy in the body and increases joy when it is in contact with your companions. It is necessary for human rational behavior, since a person who is not happy does not always act rationally because being angry generates hormones that cause the person unconsciously of their actions to act.

In conclusion, happiness applies in many situations of everyday life, such as going to the movies, talking with loved ones, playing, etc. And it is also a determining factor for human integral development. It is good to let emotions out and avoid depression, since she can only lead the human being to very uncomfortable situations and even imminent danger. You have to learn to handle happiness and accept that, whenever sad situations should be taken positively. Being happy is healthy and very effective.
