Introduction

The sustainability of our civilization depends on whether we can supply energy sources, food and chemical products to the growing population without compromising health, both in Latin America and the world in the long term. The development of tools to achieve these objectives is a great scientific, technological and social challenge.

One of the most attractive concepts in chemistry to achieve sustainability is green or sustainable chemistry, whose objective is the use of a group of principles that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacturing and applications of chemicals , what in many cases implies the redesign of the products and processes used, the chemical industry, governments, and non -governmental organizations have taken different measures to face the challenge of the interface between chemistry and sustainability.

Developing

Currently, it has been confirmed that green chemistry can use materials compatible with the environment, developing innovative processes that reduce or eliminate the generation of hazardous substances and toxic waste from various industrial activities for this the ecological footprint in Ecuador incorporated an indicator to measure the sustainability, taking as an indication that the country does not yet exceed its ecological limits, it has been raised as a goal to avoid ecological loss.

In this context, an objective for the expansion of the ecological system will be formed in such a way to analyze, formulate, articulate, implement and follow up the public policy that allows promoting the management and use of natural resources, the development of certain productive activities and the adoption of measures that reduce the ecological footprint and maintain biocapacity by providing ecological overwhelming in the nation. (Montoya, 2016)

What this research work intends is to incorporate a more comprehensive vision to address the great challenge of sustainable development and strengthen our environment, that is, to achieve participatory decision making, which generates commitment and positioning of a new way to improve our context, whose results whose results They are much more technical, practical, and adjusted to the local reality, taking advantage of the benefits and strengths of the Riobamba canton and the potential of its people, which implies not insisting the anachronistic model that benefits the urban center usually, but strengthens the Environment of the riobambeña community, together with conditions that guarantee that each of the inhabitants of Riobamba have the possibility of developing and increasing their abilities to the maximum, with the proper use of modern technology without neglecting the care of the environment.

Chemistry is fundamental in our lives and is based on understanding with other sciences. However, the purpose of our exploration is to verify that future generations are able to have chemical, material and especially that energy is sustainable. In the following research it is planned to analyze the development of green chemistry, emphasizing its principles and motivation of development in sustainable processes. Therefore, the methodology that was used is descriptive, and of analysis, the research population is structured with 36 first semester students of the chemistry and biology pedagogy career, the sample was made up of five students, the investigation was planned of green chemistry as environmental sustainability. In conclusion, green chemistry eliminates or decreases sources of contamination with the objective that new products do not affect or put any form of life at risk.

OBJECTIVES

General

Promote and apply green chemistry, since it gradually eliminates the generation of hazardous or harmful materials, and replacing them with other less toxic and safer, in such a way that the QV transcends it is necessary to incorporate this new current in the university academic curriculas in charge of Professional human resources training.

Specific

Raise awareness about use, which is given to substances or products, which are certainly affecting our planet and therefore with the life of every living being, explain the paradigms of green chemistry for the development of scientific and technological tools.

Conclusions

The study conducted demonstrates the growth of green chemistry and its contributions to be a really effective tool to form citizens aware of the planetary emergency situation, capable of making founded decisions aimed at advancing in the transition to sustainability.

Authentic green chemistry is conceived to eliminate or at least reduce sources of contamination with the intention that new products and processes do not endanger any form of life. In the coming years, the concept of sustainable development from green chemistry will continue to take an increasingly important place within sectors such as industrial, government and even social, to achieve more favorable decisions for the environment and the future of humanity.
