Freedom and its risks: concept, reflection
When talking about freedom, we can quickly say what the concept of this is, which tells us that it is the right that every person has to decide their act in the world, but how far we have that right without damaging others?, How far can we be truly free? These are some questions that we ask ourselves in traveling from our life and that through our experiences and when we become really responsible for our actions, Solé (2015) mentions “The human being itself is the original creator of all its representations and concepts and must be the only author of all his actions ”of course that man is the author of all his actions, but as far as he can impact my act without damaging third parties, because a person who is really responsible for everything he does, And he reflects on that freedom that corresponds to him, he will always mark his limits within ethics which Foucault mentions, “Freedom is the ontological condition of ethics. But ethics is the reflective form that takes freedom ”, therefore true freedom will lead me, not only to be responsible for my act in the world, but will also lead me to take care of everything that surrounds me, as it is My family, friends, students in short all kinds of people and in the environment where I develop, because if we are ethical people, we will take care of ourselves, others and the planet, which the latter is suffering precisely because of the lack of ethics Reflective.
When talking about bioethics, we are talking about life (bio) and the behavior of the human being, so it comes to guide us, as our current should be in the world, respecting me first to me, second to all that person with which I have a relationship and especially as mentioned in the previous paragraph the care of our planet, since in the crisis in which we are due to the lack of a true application of environmental care values, we are destroying it indiscriminately, without really seeing a change in attitude of our society and especially of our governments. Not taking care of the planet is not taking care of ourselves since it is the only place we have to live.
Our place as teachers in the area of Humanities, gives us a great opportunity to analyze these issues both in the subject of ethics and in philosophy issues, where in the two subjects we work with the community of inquiry, where the Areas of interest, with "the issue of freedom", analyzing the concept and everything that contains the true freedom that we have as responsible human beings, achieving with this activity that young arguments, reflections, criticize their actions in society and in the world, sowing in them a little awareness of what true freedom is and how to reflect on it will change our current in the world and with ourselves.
We still have much to do, and it is a great opportunity that these subjects have returned within the curricula that had disappeared from our curriculum, but that have returned and as teachers, we have a great commitment to teach our generations A change of attitude, first, with themselves so that later it transcends every living being that is around them.
