So that the relationship can be improved, but mostly what is recommended is a readjustment not a disappearance by those who take care of it. When studying foreign policy we realize how incredible it is. The way in which a country is related to the outside, and at the same time give priority to their interests, in the way they reach their objectives and how they incorporate them in the international scope in a particular way. Therefore, it is important that a nation its foreign policy, since it allows us to understand its interaction with the rest of the actors in the international system.
In the world that we currently live in which economic, social and even cultural integration between countries extends, mainly among those countries that make up a regional bloc. Therefore, we must not put aside Latin America because many characteristics are shared in common and that helps us understand them a little more and help them in their relationships. Geographically, Mexico is part of North America, but it is also from Latin America. In the north, in addition to the geographical issue, commercial relations unite us.
While, to the south, the historical trajectory, culture and traditions, customs and values, language, including economic development and commercial models, undeniably stipulate our belonging with that region. Our current president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, proclaims that the best foreign policy is internal policy, making relations abroad in the background and focuses on what happens internally in the country. Based on foreign policy on historical values of independence and freedom, on sovereign equality between states, non -intervention.
The peaceful solution of controversies between nations and cooperation between peoples and countries, attached to article 89 of the Mexican Constitution. In other words, foreign policy represents the way in which a country leads to external context.
In addition, it should not be limited to the firm and renegotiation of free trade agreements, but to have a broader vision with emphasis on multilateral action and in coordination with related strategic countries. In this international context it is essential that foreign policy is somewhat priority. And what has been seen so far, is that the president -elect has shown a foreign policy that can be interpreted of low importance. However, changes at the international level of globalization and innovation form a progressive restlessness and commitments in the world,
Bringing a world rearrangement. In this way, Mexico’s foreign policy requires it to be placed as a global agent responsible and committed to the aforementioned rearrangement. Therefore, foreign policy must become a priority tool, otherwise it is put at risk of remaining isolated and outside significant changes internationally. The first thing in this orientation is the strengthening of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE). As commissioned to implement, perform, systematize, regulate, coordinate.
Among other tasks on Mexico’s foreign policy, the SRE will be lacking the necessary human and economic capitals to carry out their occupation. It is necessary to develop an agile, responsible, prospective foreign policy not only of reaction, that safeguards the national interest and that at the same time procures integral human development and international peace and security that, attending to the principles and history of Mexico. For the planning of the foreign policy of the current administration towards Latin America, it must give primacy to the region for political interests such as migration, security and borders, therefore, it should not hide the bad behaviors to Central American migrants in this way must commit tothe protection of human rights and respect.
Economic interests such as investment, integration and commerce, finally symbolic interests, since they concern a common cultural space and international affinities. In turn, Mexico must develop a wide foreign policy to the south that I authorized not only a progressive commercial and political exchange, but in the same way to consolidate a Latin Americanist position without falling into just a speech. One of the first things to be done is to establish a group of specialized people in foreign policy, coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Relations, in order to form policies that benefit Mexico with the outside.

In addition to looking for Mexico to be the leader who was for the Latin America and the Caribbean region with great powers and at the same time it is a good example for the entire region. Mainly with the United States, since it is the immediate neighbor by the northern border. Therefore, foreign policy makers must promote democracy in Latin America, in addition to strengthening the Pacific Alliance for different reasons: to promote regional integration, counterweight to the United States and a better position in international forums. Mexico needs to regain its leadership in front of this region.
