Five greats and their personalities

Introduction

The model of the great five, known in English -speaking countries as The Big Five Model, is a questionnaire that analyzes and evaluates in great detail the human personality in five different dimensions. The first public mention of this scale was given in a meeting in Chicago of the American Psychology Society held in Chicago in 1933. The model of the five greats, as the name implies, is based on five key factors or dimensions of personality, being used to determine what percentage of them is present in each person.

Developing

Affability, cordiality or kindness

This dimension of the scale of the five great A, refers to the trend that an individual has to give in to other people. Human beings with a high degree of affability or cordiality tend to be cooperative and transmit to other people a high degree of warmth and trust. People who obtain a low score in this dimension of personality tend to show themselves to the world as cold, unpleasant and have a remarkable tendency to establish plagued hostility relationships with others. In its positive pole, this dimension refers to the docility to comply with the norms, coupled with the ease they have to establish interpersonal relationships of the friendly type.

Responsibility

This dimension can be described as the ability of a person to be able to control their impulses and act following the forms that are accepted by society. We could talk about behavior aimed at goals. Conscient people stand out in their ability to delay satisfaction, plan and organize effectively.

Someone who has a high score in this factor is likely to be successful in the studies and in the professional career they choose, since it is very likely that it fought to reach their goals with determination and great holiday. And on the contrary, a person who is in the opposite pole of this dimension will be much more prone to postponing tasks, to escape the responsibilities of the least provocation and to make guided decisions for mere impulse, without thinking about the possible consequences of theirActs.

conclusion

This dimension of personality, which is also known as neuroticism, points out a person’s ability to support stress situations. People with high -scores in neuroticism will generally show anxiety, concern and low self – esteem. They have a tendency to get angry easily and are usually more insecure people.

At the opposite end, people with low neuroticism scores have greater emotional stability, and, therefore, tend to be calm and safe from themselves. It is the dimension that caused the most confusion and controversy of all five factors. The elements that make it up are active imagination, aesthetic sensitivity, attention to internal experience, taste for variety, curiosity to enrich the intellectual part of their being and independence of judgments.
