Evolutionary process of cognitive skills

Cognitive skills are that set of capacities that our brain possesses, these have multiple functions; How to process and transmit information, perception and problem solving among other great functions (Cabrera-Cortés, 2003). Something that we do as naturally as having a conversation with a friend, has behind a long process in our brain, which happens in seconds, this is thanks to our cognitive skills, which are highly developed. This whole process occurs within the temporal lobe.

According to the book "Sapiens: from animals to gods", our ancestors did not possess great cognitive skills, with this the communication, understanding and learning processes were more limited to them. At that time it was speculated that the sapiens had a different brain structure than ours, but to be proven, this is not great scientific evidence. (HARARI 2014).

As Yuval Harari explains, he is known as a cognitive revolution at that time in history that changed everything, the sapiens developed new skills to think and communicate. Together with this, doubts arise that it caused this great change, and it is believed that it was thanks to genetic mutations that happened by accident and made a change in the internal process of the brain, this is known as cognitive revolution. From our point of view, we agree with the theory of cognitive revolution, and we understand that it was a process of great importance for humanity, since thanks to this process, there are multiple inventions which were and are very relevant today , and in turn, the sapiens without this revolution had not developed the different cognitive skills to the maximum and it is very likely that without this fact the evolution of the world was not as it is today.

Thanks to the new cognitive abilities obtained by the Sapiens thanks to the revolution, they made multiple inventions that were very important in history, such as; The boats, arc and arrow, the needle, etc. In turn, they obtained the ability of better communication and better perception, thanks to this, myths and legends and the ability to tell them were created.

To conclude, the important thing about cognitive functions in our day -to -day cognitive that we have today, that allow us to communicate, perceive and transmit information in a very precise way, and together with this many more skills.
