Essay on a Responsible Declaration

ABSTRACT

This document shows a competition portfolio. The object is to evaluate the skills, skills and skills acquired by the student during their degree of business administration and management at the University of Granada, as well as the difficulties found for its realization.

The guide provided by the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences will be followed, providing the different evidence in a structured way and included in folders within the USB memory attached to the portfolio.

Competition: Information access and management

Information access and management competence represents the ability to access, collect and process information from different sources (electronic magazines, web pages, referenced books, etc.), to relate and structure it so that it generates knowledge

At the time we are living, accessing information is an easy and fast task thanks to the development of ICTs (information and communication technologies), however the ability to manage it depends on the present knowledge and making good use of it.

Once my degree was started in business administration and management, it was when I realized that I did not correctly perform information management in my academic field. The works were not equipped with a specific structure and the data search was carried out without order or references about what was valid or not, to argue on a specific topic.

All the information with which I worked was taken from the Internet, a fact that changed flatly with my career start, where teachers indicated the necessary manuals both to carry out practices and for the study of the subject and could be found in the library of the Faculty.

This competition develops favorably as the degree takes place, since one of the great differences with respect to the previous academic courses is the realization of many works and projects during the four -month period, individually or in a group. Learning about this aspect gives students a necessary maturity to face working life when we finish the race.

In the first year I had to deal with this competition in several subjects.

An example of this can be seen in the subject "History of contemporary world economic development", with the realization of an individual project of a subject of its subject (evidence 1.1). The teacher was very demanding with the guidelines to follow, since a part of our final grade depended on this work. The information had to be taken from different books and scientific magazines that he provided us, in addition to not being able to copy it as is and make use of the rules to cite historical data.

The subject assigned to me by my teacher was "The crisis of 1929", in which I obtained a good note (notable 8) despite being the first and noticing enough nerves in the exhibition defending my topic.

With this project I understood that we must not use the first information that appears on the Internet, but to investigate those that are reliable and sufficiently complete, referring to its place of origin, since most of the class obtained lower notes due dueto copy without making the previous summons.

Another subject in which we develop this competition was in “Quantitative techniques II”, completed in the second career, for the use of statistics, databases and spreadsheets (evidence 1.two). We had to make an annual GDP analysis in millions of euros from different countries. I must point out that we found some difficulties in handling the Excel program, since no one had taught us to use it before, but thanks to group work we managed to do what we were asked in due time.

In the same course, in the "world economy" matter, it was when I met the term Turnitin. We talked about a plagiarism prevention service through the Internet and in which my teacher was an expert, since I was promoting its use to the other subjects of the entire career. There I discovered that I had been "copying" most of my academic life, since I did not know the correct use of the different norms.

With him we did a course on plagiar.3), which consisted of talking about the commercial profile of a country. If we open this document we can see how it is cited using the APA standards and finally, how we reference in the bibliography the official pages used to do it correctly.

This competition is also present in the last course of the race, as is in “Creation of Business”, where we had to carry out a group in a group creating a company so that we applied all the knowledge of the race (evidence 1.4). We had to order the different data well following a previous index, contrast information with the different class groups, use Excel tables as well as databases. Therefore, it is the widest and most expensive project of all grade courses.

As the evidence indicated and I have previously clarified, the competition is clearly understood from the first year to the last one.

I consider that it is one of the most prominent in my learning and which I have been developing favorably, thanks to the help not only of the teachers, but also to the resources available today as is the Internet and the library of my faculty.

Competence: Analysis and synthesis capacity

The analysis and synthesis competence represents the ability to extract and interpret in a systematic and rigorous way the basic principles and elements for the establishment of conclusions based on theoretical and empirical approaches.

This competition is the next step in the use of the information that we have analyzed in the first competition, specifically in knowing the chosen aspect and having complementary knowledge to which we possess. Not only is it present in theoretical subjects, without realizing it in those referring to the field of mathematics and accounting, we select and use the most relevant data among which we have.

Likewise, it will be very useful throughout our work career since many companies work with the Big Data. This is, data at a larger scale and that exceed the capacity of conventional software to be processed, as well as infrastructure and services created for the same purpose.

The competition is developed in each of the practices, works and exhibitions that we do in the course of the entire career, since to carry out the study of the different subjects we must make schemes or summaries to facilitate understanding. However, I think we have previously developed it to get here, of course the baccalaureate and the subsequent selectivity.

In my degree, to approve the subjects, both the final exam and the continuous evaluation in most cases had to be overcome. The continuous evaluation is mandatory in many of them, it consists of the realization of both individual and group practices and in which almost all of them were made up of texts or readings to which we had to answer certain questions proposed by the teacher or guide ofattached work.

In the subject "macroeconomy" we did a practice in which we had to handle and analyze a large amount of data (evidence 2.1 AND 2.two). The name of the practice sent by the teacher was: relationship of exercises, objective questions, data analysis and issues for the debate of the topics I and II of macroeconomics. I attach as proof of this, the file answering the theoretical questions, and in another Excel type file the collection of the data with their respective graphics. In this subject we had to familiarize ourselves with macro-economic magnitudes such as GDP, the balance of payments, import of goods, etc.

It was an exercise of difficulty over the rest of practices carried out until then, since the data is also selected correctly, you had to know how to interpret them and explain them to the teacher through different graphics. Each graph was a different question and in turn referred to several countries and dates. For all this, in this practice I clearly developed the concept of analysis of this competition.

An example of synthesis, we can see in the subject "Introduction to Marketing", in which almost every week we had to deliver an individual practice (evidence 2.3). Once the text is read and answered the questions, we delivered our file to the teacher for the next class to make the sharing in an orally.

In addition, an aspect in which teachers are increasing.

For me, getting to a conclusion with my own words is what has cost me the most and I would say, it costs me today. I can see this fact in the questions of the exams that ask to draw conclusions from the previous operations, and in which my score is usually low.

Regarding taking out our own conclusions and seeing the final results, we have been improving as we advanced in the race. As evidence, I show how in the career subject called "Financial Directorate", I did a voluntary work but favored us in the final note (Evidence 2.4). It consisted of the analysis and monitoring of the movement of the actions of a given company, having to reach final results having previously analyzed all the data obtained in the time interval.

In the aspect of identifying the information, personally, I consider being well prepared before the race by my school and institute in making schemes and summaries. In both they made a lot of effort in their correct realization and in improving errors through the routine correction of them.

During the study of a subject it is necessary. An example is a scheme that I made for "financial statements analysis" (evidence 2.5) I show it in the photography indicated. This subject in addition to theory, had formulas and several abbreviations of the name of each formula, which without a concise and clear structure was impossible to memorize correctly.

From my point of view, in this matter it is the most working this competition, since it consists of interpreting in your own words and with the help of formulas, the balance of a company situation. Once the current situation was interpreted, we also had to propose the changes we would make to improve the results obtained, always with the same resources that the company under study possessed.

In summary, I have overlooked this competition, and with the realization of this TFG (it would be another evidence), I put into practice my ability to synthesize the information and relate it to my abilities learned in the years of career.
