Scenario one Task 1 The main types of discrimination that Marietta is likely to experience in the day care Centre are; discrimination towards disability, discrimination towards gender, and the fact that she knows little English, the discrimination towards language. The fact that Marietta is disabled, the kind of treatments that she will get from other members of the day care center will be different. She will be overlooked as someone who is not able to carry out her duties as any physically fit individuals. On top of Marietta’s disability, the fact that she is a lady makes some of the members of the day Centre not to value her much like the male gender in the same center. Finally, since Marietta knows little English, most people would not want to speak to her or try to teach her English language, and this will make her feel discriminated and alienated as well. Olutola is able to work in the daycare setting if and only if she does not show any discrimination against the disabled. Olutola should also try to take her time and story with the patients she takes care of so as to know their ways of lives. During the care, Olutola should be conversant with the beliefs of the patients in terms of their religion. This will enlighten Olutola on doctrines of the patients’ religion, their dos and the don’ts as required by their religion. The caretakers should be well conversant with some of the things that these disabled value in their lives. The things that are much valued by the people in the day care setting should be taken care of by Olutola so that Marietta and her fellows feel that they are respected by those taking care of them.
