Effects of man on the environment

The effects of man on the environment are worrying. Economic growth, unfortunately, have become synonymous with destruction of nature. Factory residues pollute the rivers;Flora and fauna are affected by pesticides and insecticides; Most of the waste of human activities, whether urban, industrial or agricultural, are going to stop at the sea, but the most important pollutant is the spills of oil and radioactive substances. The radioactive escapes of nuclear centrals and industrial fumes poison the air and become irreversible.

Alterations on the surface of the planet due to the indiscriminate intervention of man have manifested themselves so quickly, both in rhythm and in extension, that scientists from all countries and international organizations have been launched to a bold struggle to limit the proportions of human impactAbout the terrestrial system. More and more countries have been provided with legislation that regulates studies on the effects that the execution of certain projects and activities can have on the environment. And although it must be recognized that man, as an integral part of the earth, has not been or will be oblivious to its evolution and that its interference is also part of the natural order, this intervention must be respectful of the environment and controlled, sinceClimate changes in recent years, as well as those foreseen in the short and medium term, are directly influenced by human activity.

Environmental pollution is defined as the presence in the air of harmful materials, or a harmful increase that is normally present, originated by industrial activities and the needs of the development of modern life.

All these matters differ appreciably in the reaction and time of their active presence in the atmosphere, which is why their impact on the health and balance of ecosystems is also very varied.

Because of this, climatic changes and the question of climatic variability have erected in a new scientific and social concern. All the governments of the world know climatic accidents for their serious socio -economic consequences.

The planet’s own thermal balance depends on the radiation balance of the atmospheric earth system and is maintained thanks to complex energy transfers between the earth’s surface and the atmosphere.

In radiation balance, the atmosphere plays an essential role, with its double filter function, both of the incident solar radiation and of the incident solar radiation and of the emitted terrestrial radiation. As a result of this filter, 47% of the solar radiation incident at the top of the atmosphere does not reach the earth’s surface and only 8% of the terrestrial radiation is lost in the space.

Three components of the atmosphere stand out as main responsible for this phenomenon: carbon dioxide, water and ozone vapor. The first two absorb, above all, infrared radiation, and the energy obtained in this process is used in trooposphere heating. The ozone, meanwhile, mainly absorbs ultraviolet radiation in the high layers of the atmosphere, preventing it from reaching the earth’s surface and thus avoiding its lethal effects, which would affect any form of life on Earth.

In conclusion we can say that we have a beautiful blue planet is like a ship that travels through space and that houses inside all the necessary resources to make the crossing develop without problems or hardship situations for its inhabitants.

Becoming aware of this is a necessary condition to extend the mentality of saving natural resources and their rational use. Only in this way will we manage to leave future generations a home with which to continue the trip over time.
