Drug use as tranquilizers and anxiolytics in adolescents

Introduction

In this academic essay the issue will be emphasized: "drug use as tranquilizers and anxiolytics in adolescents". According to Dr. Gerald F. O’Malley (2017) An anxiolytic causes dependence and consecutively an overdose. The consumption of them can produce drowsiness, confusion and respiratory difficulties, which affect the central nervous system. I think that this issue is of great importance and concern, so it triggers severe problems such as depression, anxiety and problems in psychological development. The main causes that carry these problems will be exhibited below.

Developing

Depression, according to a research study carried out by Camila Escobar and Alejandra Zumárraga (2018), is a disease that affects people around the world in a physical and psychic way. It is caused by some genetic, biological and environmental factors. This is presented as affective predominance such as pathological sadness, apathy, hopelessness, decay, irritability, feeling of discomfort in the face of life demands and generally the family, etc. I think that depression is a chronic circumstance, since the person feels a sadness that does not fade over time and is often related to a traumatic incident, however depression is presented in different ways that end up affecting personal lifeAnd many times social. A solution can be reached before this problem with antidepressants and psychotherapy depends gravity on the case.

Anxiety, according to Dr. Rafaella Proaño (2019), is a primary emotion that all humans experience and is considered a normal response to a danger, so it is presented as a sense of stiffness, restlessness, and concern against aSpecific situation for a limited time. Anxiety is considered as a pathology when the stimulus exceeds the normal capacity of the organism’s response and appears as a non -adaptive response accompanied by an unpleasant situation. The main physical symptoms of anxiety are: tachycardia and sweating, headache or stomach, uncontrollable legs of legs and arms, difficulty sleeping or breathing, muscle tension, sensation of heaviness in the belly. I think that anxiety is often uncontrollable and although it is true, it is a problem that leads many times to despair, to the feeling that you need to do something, eating constantly, always being in operation, etc. These behaviors are likely to be related to our mood and they lead to bad habits in the daily life style.

The problems in psychological development, according to Laura Valenciano (2017), the pressures that parents exert on their children are demanding, so adolescents seek an exit to this type of demand. Communication and signs of affection are an indispensable factor in the relationship of parents to their children, since in the case of not presenting these behaviors, adolescents usually cross depression and psychological problems, thus presenting low self – esteem and tension, byWhat fall into drug use. However, when parents present cases of extreme protection and exaggerated affection, adolescents usually present problems with social interactions and are not governed by norms of behavior and thus become conflicting adolescents, in this way they seek new experiences such as consumptionof drugs. I think that drug use in adolescents affects psychological development, since it slows the development of brain activity and behaviors become more prominent to this type of substance. Drugs create dependency and is detrimental to the person who consumes it, for their family and social environment.

conclusion

In this essay I conclude that drug use as tranquilizers and anxiolytics are addictive and harmful to both internal and external health, as well as psychological and psychic health in adolescents is affected. It was evidenced that depression has several sensations such as: sensation of empty feelings, presents physical discomfort, tiredness or lack of energy, pessimism, under mood. Therefore, anxiety presents tense or desperate behaviors, which are an indicative that psychological treatment is necessary in the patient. Psychological development problems are commonly evident in family and social environments, depending on the situation that each teenager present.
