Documentary "Nothing is private" in Netflix

Netflix brings us this new documentary that tells us about Cambridge Analytical, the political consultant that symbolizes the dark side of social networks from the 2016 presidential elections in the United States. The strongest point of this documentary is that the issue is really very interesting, since most people use social networks and if they tell us that all our information is being stolen it attracts attention.

The system that they sold basically had to break society, a series of thoughts, ideas that influence people and end up breaking something that was quite solid, such as the union of Britain. As this went well later they sold the system to Trump.

In 2016, the Trup campaign decided. Obama used social media data to target the places where there were more needs to change the vote option, and did so explaining what he was doing, he was completely frontal and never illegal or not very ethical.

What really happened with Cambridge Analytica was not a security failure but a violation of terms and conditions. This company boasts of taking advantage of a questionable set of tools originated in marketing known as "psychographic segmentation". These techniques are supposed to be delimited objective from their lifestyle or personality and thus be able to offer each voter precisely the type of message to which it is susceptible. Or also known as: micro-targeting.

Today the tool is widely used above all in advertising and in the political sphere to have a competitive advantage.

Marketing not only has to do with the business world, in reality marketing is in many parts, areas: it is in science, in sport and is also in politics and is present in politics because politicians also havethat strong demand to convince people to vote for them and others.

The company has changed, and with it the political campaigns and the way of communicating of the parties and perhaps partly for the need to obtain votes from the youngest.

"Social networks filter and modify political messages before they enter the brain and constitute an important complement to the political marketing strategy of a candidate".

Finally, although the use of social networks can be a magnificent ally for politicians, it can also become a large element with the ability to win by the electoral path. No one can doubt the role of social networks as an important stimulator and conductor of propaganda and against political propaganda, the doubtful thing is their definitive power in the triumph of an election.
