Difference between scientific explanations and pseudoscientific explanations

This essay will talk about the difference between scientific explanations and pseudoscientific explanations, for this we will focus on clarifying and deepening that science is and that it is pseudoscience in order to contribute good knowledge, know how to differentiate between these two typesAnd do not self-draw us, since one represents a "true" science and the other represents a "false" science.

Science is a set of knowledge that describes nature and everything that happens in it. It is a collective human activity that brings together knowledge about the world and creates demonstrable laws and theories, which helps us understand nature through the observation and experimentation of reality, in a practical way, on the other hand, the word pseudoscience or pseudoscience is all forms all formsof affirmation, belief, judgment or practice that appears to be scientific without being, has a negative relationship, since it is equivalent to saying ‘false science’ and in a nutshell they do not follow the steps of the scientific method. The Pseudoscientific has some characteristics such as occultist, it has no official legitimation (they do not appear in official scientific publications, nor do they have support, support and interest of the institutions that hold and promote scientific knowledge), it is dogmatic (it proposes a series of beliefs that they mustbeing accepted or rejected), does not pursue general laws and is unconscious, since they do not respond to their postulates in a coherent way. (Tovar, 2017)

A clear example of pseudoscientific is homeopathy, this is a therapeutic method that is based on the fact that a substance that causes certain symptoms in a healthy person, is able to cure the same symptoms or similar in a sick person and it is worth mentioning that a homeopathic remedyIt is the whole symptoms of each patient. (Álvarez, 2016)

Finally, one of the greatest difference between science and pseudoscience is that it remains in the methodology used when studying certain phenomena or facing a problem; The mood of the scientific method is to prevent us from deceiving ourselves;that we fall into several confusion to validate postulates made by ourselves without an appropriate, demonstrable or reproducible evaluation. It should be noted that another big difference in the scientific method is in their research, that is, their discoveries do not follow the path that every scientific hypothesis must continue to be qualified as "true", science advances in a slow, but safe way;On the other hand, pseudosciences have a methodology totally faced to the one explained above, since it is presented as scientific and factual, but is incompatible with the scientific method.

As time goes by new things are discovered, new inventions that advance science, in this reason science does not have an end; These inventions are very useful, since thanks to this you could discover many techniques and medicines that managed to save lives. Science has several advantages, but in the same way it also has its disadvantages, a clear example of this is environmental pollution and the use of animals for experiments;Science saves lives, but kills others.

Pseudosciences do not seek new knowledge, they will always believe in the same, because it is their essence. On the other hand, the mission of science is to overcome every day. If the proposed is successful then it would be an advance for formal science that without pseudoscience could not have been discovered. Pseudosciences in general provide confusion to people who may not know how to distinguish between what is reliable and what is not, and thus fall under what these deceptive sciences say. (DIZ, 2017)
