While it is true that glucose is a source of energy, because we must keep it at optimal levels eating healthy and thus does not affect our health;since it leads to multiple consequences, being able to cause death. "According to PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) this disease causes the death of 2950 Peruvians every year" . 

The objective of this work is to help prevent and control diabetes. Next, I will detail the primary causes, consequences and how we can prevent this disease. The causes of diabetes are diverse, being one of the main factors the obesity that represents 12.6% in men and women on 20.3%, also, the constant consumption of foods rich in salt and carbohydrates, soft drinks, chocolates;In the same way, sedentary lifestyle, since the lack of exercise increases the risk of diabetes at some stage of our lives, in turn the excessive consumption of alcohol and tobacco, as well as the family history influences the development of this disease. In Peru, people over 40 are the greatest possibility of developing this disease compared to the younger ones. According to the Peruvian Diabetes League, he states that by 2030, around 2,872,000 Peruvians will suffer from it. It is worrying to know that these figures will increase year after year if these bad habits are not avoided, since it is in our hands to be able to prevent a healthy lifestyle.

The consequences of suffering diabetes are the following: kidney disease, which leads to dialysis or kidney transplantation, secondly blindness, when glucose rises the retina;Likewise, heart problems, such as infarction, heart failure, arterial hypertension, and final.

Prevention is essential to control and avoid this disease, carrying a balanced diet with a nutritionist;Since it will give us the appropriate proportions of daily food intake, the consumption of vegetables and fruits helps a lot in this process, at the same time replacing soft drinking drinks, since it is natural;as well as exercises or walks during the week.

In short, diabetes is a disease with serious consequences for our health, since it attacks several of the organs that are vital for the proper functioning of the organism, if we do not prevent time could cause death, each one has the responsibility ofAvoid contracting diabetes. The following recommendations are suggested: Follow a healthy lifestyle, practice some sport, as well as perform an annual check and thus be able to detect in time if you have a high result of blood glucose, to be able to control diabetes.
