Critical reflection on ‘Metamorosis’

The writer of this moving workonly.

However, within the analyzed novel, it reflects the frustration of the society in which the author is, he also describes the man in his time, but also the current man, who leads to common issues such as rejection, anguish, loneliness,Death and authoritarianism within the home. Based on this, the question is answered. How does the author reflect the past present within the work?

To begin, Franz Kafka makes known in an objectivelyHigh level status to join the powerful class and as in the work, Kafka describes Gregorio Samsa, the main character, how a responsible man who lives complexed by assuming family responsibilities of the family, such as the pay of a debt he hadHis parents, in which he had to take charge in a long time, this is verified in the passages:

“–Samsa was a trade traveler -."" … as soon as I have gathered the amount necessary to pay my parents’ debt – about five or six years yet -."

In this way, it is confirmed that in the novel he presents the frustrated life of the character in an egocentric society, controlled by his own family, who after the transformation is rejected in a cruel way without any collection, likewise in the life of the author the author the authorEnvironment inside his home was frustrating and also in relation to his father, he was the one who motivated him to become a weak being of submissive personality, reflecting all that negativity within the work, demonstrating a problematic issue of the world, which is rejection, announcing a being that will be persecuted and controlled by the same humanity at all present and future times.

On the other hand, in the political context of the writer a capitalist ideology is interpreted, this when the European war clashes such as World War I, this ideology is based on the interest of money and the power of a bourgeois society that was subjectedTo the pressures of this doctrine, however, in the work it is reflected that man will be annihilated and tortured by the absolutism of the Government, the war and the domain.

To affirm this fragment we will focus on Gregorio’s father as a selfish, hard, capitalist and head of the household that allows his son’s sacrifice for the economic well -being of the family, for example on page 77 “the money to survive does notThere was any choice but to win it. But the father, although he was well healthy, was already old and had not worked for five years; Therefore, little could be expected from him."

In this passage clearly justifies the interested party of the father, which is why Gregorio transforms a happy man to a miserable man who must fight every day to keep his family, acting as a privileged son.

In the second instance, as the author’s philosophical movement is "existentialism", which is why it is defined to the existence of human beings facing social problems in the face of the absurdity of life and the universe, characterized in the spiritual study of each individual,It focuses on holding the man who seeks the meaning of life trying to answer the reason for his existence in the world, as a result of postulating a human transformation by changing his essence or nature. In this way, the literary current expresses the percussions of the people to demonstrate of why existence in this world together with its purpose. Therefore, in the first chapter the transformation of the human being to an insect is mentioned:

“… Gregorio Samsa woke up in a morning after a restless dream, he found himself in a bed turned into a horrible bug. He lay on the hard shell of his back, and saw, randomly randomly, his arched and dark belly… ”

“ – he once was too difficult to move;Everything was going so slowly; And when then, almost crazy, he concentrated all his energy and without contemplations he dragged forward, he had missed the direction, giving a tremendous blow against the foot of the bed … ”

The first event manifests the anguish of the existence of the human being, in effect the transformation that Gregorio suffers, which expresses isolation and loneliness, characteristic at the present time, fears that Gregorio had for the rejection of his family and of theSociety, where the writer makes realistic known the misfortune of life. In contrast the second fragment describes the hopes of the character by wanting to get up and continue with his normal life, but he realizes that it is difficult to move.

Similarly, Kafka shows that each individual seeks their existence in the universe, transforming the interior "I" according to what society dictates at each time to fulfill the objective of life. With all this, the idea that humanity wonders from its existence in this world is extracted from the past from the past from the past.

In another circumstance, abstract symbolism also helps to reflect the past present within the work such as apples, which have as meaning the collective judgments or criticisms of humanity that will always remain present by the appearances of people. “Gregorio, frightened, did not move: it was useless to continue running, because the father had resolved to bomb him. He had filled his pockets with the fruitful content on the sideboard, and threw an apple after another … ”

Finally, as you can understand the characters acquire a role, an important transformation and characterization within the work, which represent the actions they perform at the time of the author and in the same way today, as is the starring of Gregorio Samsa,A responsible worker submitted to the prejudices of his father, accepting a work that he hates, hiding the impotence he had before his misfortune, assuming a transformation of a favorite son to a useless man. In the case of the father, he was an egocentric man with his family causing pain to his own son, a father who watched over his own interests. On the other hand, the mother was a weak woman who feared her husband, who at first had compassion for her son but then rejects him as well as her husband and daughter, who in the same way, was a weak woman who happens to make compassionateto someone superb. Knowing each of the character’s personalities we can investigate that as in the future there will continue to exist these types of people, who will adopt the best identity to belong to the same group or social status, carried out by appearances.

In conclusion, first of all, Franz Kafka reflects the past present within the work as a mirror to publicThe characters that reflect the search for the human being to their existence, also in the protagonists reveal the different personalities and characteristics of people in these times of an era that reflected chaos and frustration with issues such as death, loneliness and rejectionthat also characterize our current times, and that will continue to exist.
